As far as the Crique show goes - I've seen it twice. My best adivce to get maximum enjoyment out of the show is to check your MJ expectations at the door. For me, the first half of the show was just a reminder that MJ was no longer here. When you're in a live environment and you hear MJ's voice you half expect him to be there. Once I mentally checked myself and tried not to do the pointless comparisson between the show and the expeirences of seeing him live I started to accept it for what it is and enjoyed it.

Would love hear what you think of it when you see it.

Agh, I bought tickets yesterday for the London O2 date (but from the big gap in European dates I bet more will be added). We're right by the big catwalk stage part but they cost me £100 each PLUS extortionate booking fees and I was forced to buy the Immortal soundtrack album which I already own, and Ticketmaster said they couldn't refund me when I complained. Bastards.

I really hope it's at least a good night out. I generally hate MJ tributes and utterly loathe impersonators and people thinking they can dance like him - my hope is it's more proper Cirque with amazing acrobatics and staging and less groups of dancers doing MJ's choreography.

Ellie - if you view it as a Cirque show with MJ music and theme then you'll enjoy it. It's not a tribute - there aren't any MJ impersonators, and whilst there are key dance numbers - it is what people expect - it is more like you say a wonderful mix of Cirque acrobatics and staging with these moments.

And for what it is worth - I have seen it twice and am seeing it again in August so that says something as to it's enjoyability.

He got bad press anywhere but I think some reason why European fans keep boasting about an anti-U.S. stance is because while Michael's records in the U.S. either did modestly well (compared to previous albums, mainly the trilogy of Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad and some even include Dangerous in the mix), Michael kept selling in Europe and Australasia still. But I don't think one country-based media was worse than the other one.

Exactly.

I like it too and it sounds like the kinda vibe that MJ would rock.

If it is a fake (ie, has nothing to do with MJ), it's still a very solid groove and also, very professionally mixed, so kudos to whomever made it biggrin

yeah, mabye it's fake but sounds original and professionally mixed as you said not like many other stupid instumental (loops ) created by the some fans.....

The nerve of some people I swear...

And me, being so damn nice to'em when they don't even deserve it.

I know a fella in my class who one time told me he was fond of Smooth Criminal. So what did I do? I gave the guy the "Moonwalker" version of the song as a present. He never writes back to say thank you, or even to tell me what he thought of it.

So I ask him today, 3 days later, if he even got it. He said it was nice, but he doesn't like it when Mike and the club goers are doing the whole "Aanniiiieeee, are you ok?" moan. So I'm like, "fair enough". And then he started talking about songs that got censored because they were too controversial. And TDCAU was brought up. I said that was a great song, very powerful. He disagreed. He said it was a bad song that should've not been released because young children would hear it, due to it's racial nature. I said that song was to spread awareness, and not just children listen to things like that. Everybody does. You can't just look at one aspect of it and criticize it to kingdom come. Look at the big picture.

And then he was like "You're such a product of the 60's...but then again, most of them had drug problems."

eek

Motherfucker, did you just say I'm a drug addict?

I politely told him to kiss my ass. Not very professional, but who gives a fuck. He pretty much inferred I was a drug addict. So I glove-slapped him back.

Honestly we won't know unless the estate comes out and confirms it's an MJ track, or some kind of vocal accompaniment to it is released. Could be (another) Malachi track, could be MJ. I don't even try to guess anymore. lol

If it's an instrumental and folks are saying it's from an unreleased track, I automatically know it's fake lol and it's usually fans who know their way around Reason or Pro Tools and they make some BS instrumental and then splice some random MJ words in (with echo so it can sound like Michael talking in the studio lol)

I remember someone trying to pass one of them off as "Do You Know Where Your Children Are" some years ago THEN the song actually leaked. They'll take an unreleased MJ song title then make a wack instrumental and expect people to believe it

Folks have tried to do this with Sunset Driver, She's Not A Girl, Fever, Face, and Rolling The Dice

And I've never heard of an unreleased MJ track leaking as JUST an instrumental. Love Never Felt So Good, Carousel, Hot Street, Nightline, She's Trouble, If You Don't Love Me, For All Time, Serious Effect, and others all leaked with music and vocals

MJ fans are always scheming, that's why some of them are in legal trouble right now lol

snippet of instrumental " don't be messin around " leaked , " I have this dream" instrumental was all over the internet also to have someone write the lyrics...Instrumental of " children's hour" leaked also but they took down Immediately. it happens

I'm NOT saying that " soldier's entrance" is legit , there is a high possiblity that it could be fake , but it sounds original at least not like some other stupid instrumentals

Okay, once I thought about it I realized that's true - pretty much every MJ track that leaks has a vocal on it. Odds are good that this has nothinggggg to do with MJ.

Watched Glee for the first and only time. I give it a 5/10

None of the covers moved me except for "Bad" which I thought was really well done but I wouldn't want to look at the show or listen to the covers again lol I think Scream was extremely corny as was Black Or White which I fast forwarded through after the first verse along with I Just Can't Stop Loving You

Hopefully some of the originals will be taken along with it.

I watched it, I give it a 3/10. I think the best job they did on a song was Human Nature, it works nice as a duet and I liked the acoustic guitar. The second best was Bad, they did a decent job with that although I liked the first half of the song more than the 2nd half. All the rest of the song covers were disbelief And that they had them recreate the Scream video was disbelief disbelief shake beyond pathetic.

Oh and I could tell the Estate had a hand in this episode when they had the characters plug the Cirque shows twice during the episode lol

Michael Jackson tribute gives "Glee" a much-needed win

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - The cast of "Glee" had reason to do a celebratory moon-walk Wednesday morning.

The Fox show's tribute episode to Michael Jackson gave the show a double-digit boost to nab the top ratings spot of the night, according to preliminary numbers.

"Glee," airing at 8 p.m., drew a 3.6 rating/10 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, a 16 percent rise over last week and the night's top performer in the demographic. It had 9 million total viewers.

Is there a song written or arranged by Clare Fischer(RIP pray) for MJ other than Push Me Away?? Because that was technically for the Jacksons, right? According to wiki article, he worked with the Jacksons during the Salsa Picante years, and later years(post 1985 I suppose), it says he continued to work with artists like Prince, MJ and others...

Later Years

...Fischer continued to write for Prince and many other renowned artists including Michael Jackson before his death, Amy Grant, Brazilian artist João Gilberto (João), Paula Abdul, Natalie Cole and more recently Chaka Khan and Branford Marsalis

I'd really love to hear that biggrin !!

I bet they were unreleased tracks or something, because off the top of my head I can't think of any songs MJ released later on that had that Fischer-style instrumentation to them.

I'd love to hear that stuff, though.
