Was Serena Williams' Twitter Meltdown Due To Drake Dating Dollicia Bryan?

She's heartbroken!

By Alicia Adejobi on Friday 6th January 2012 Photo by Instagram/Serena Williams

Serena Williams embarked on a huge rant just last week in which she seemed to have a meltdown about a failed relationship.

Drizzy and Serena were said to be dating briefly last year but these reports were never confirmed.

Speculation has mounted that the tennis star was distraught at learning Drake had started a relationship with model Dollicia Bryan and that is what sparked her Twitter meltdown. A couple of months ago, Drake gave an interview to Complex magazine in which: "I really, really love and care for Serena Williams. She’s incredible. That’s someone I’m proud to say I know. She’s definitely in my life and I’m in her life."

Serena began her huge rant by writing: "I tried. Hard. I've been doing everything I can to bite my tongue.... But......... But really?? Shocking," Serena wrote.

"Like really, really??? FORREAL!!!!??!!!!! RT @kmcme @serenawilliams S!!!! LOL. Ok... Like FOR REAL??? Come on.... WTH?"

Realising that she may have been worrying her followers, Serena thanked her fans for putting up with her subliminal messages, writing: "Ok tks guys for listening to my hummmm's and ahhhhhhhh lol."

She added: "I'm afraid to sleep... because I keep dreaming about you...Even though I try I can't let go, something in your eyes captured my soul. Every night I see u in my dreams. Your all I know I can't let go."

The 29-year-old then posted a photo of her face looking solemn along with the caption: "You suck."

Drake was said to be dating Dollicia in December of last year but they recently broke up and he was then seen spending New Year's ...iend Nebby.

Do you think Serena is heartbroken from Drake's relationship?

How old is Serena? Isn't she a little too old for Drake anyway? SMH

This and nothing else.

Common = real hip-hop

Drake = hip-pop moist music for tween girls.

Real hip-hop artists get sick of seeing their genre bastardized and often take shots at artists who are contributing to the detriment of the genre.

Common spoke on it and Drake had his period.

The press is trying to twist this into some "affair of the heart" B.S. because that's the kind of drama that sells magazines and gets internet subscriptions but in reality, its about HIP-HOP. Watering the beef down also helps diffuse the discrediting of a commodity. A lot of folks are making paper off Drake right now. Dude has a Sprite commercial, so you know the interest to keep him "legit" is there.

The "at least he's not rapping about drugs and guns" argument is weak. Hip-hop is about lyrical superiority and diss records have always been a part of it. Common has always been hip-hop. Drake is a manufactured pop star who raps.

Actually according to Common the verse on Sweet that Drake had a problem with, Common was talking about himself

During an interview with MTV, Common revealed that Drake took offense to his track "Sweet."

“He opened his mouth and said some things, so if that’s what he want—all that subliminal [talk]…you could do that too, but say it now."

Talking about his track “Sweet” he added,

“The verse is about me but when you hear some of the stuff on the chorus it’s like you can’t help but think about dude and I guess that’s what he felt. So at the end of day he fits in that category, he already embraced it, so wear it.”

Shortly after the release of "Sweet" Drake responded to Common on the original Rick Ross track "Stay Schemin." And now, Common is responding to the response (so to speak) on the remix.

But make no Mistake somebody is pissy over Serena and i'm sure Drake is probably feelin like this after Common's Diss

And this is the type of bullshit that is supposed to be so damn great that funk can't make it onto the radio. Low class trash throwing racial slurs around and using a tired ass word like "sweet". I suppose that's supposed to a gay slur? He just hasn't been around many of us because if he had been, he'd know that as evil and vengeful as we are, the last thing we are is "sweet". I have always found it hilarious that these shit hoppers have the nerve to use gay slurs when the majority of them have never recorded even one song faster than a fucking Liza Minelli record.

Oh, I'm for real. I hate that fucking word "sweet" when referring to us, worse than anything. I'd rather be called a fucking "fag" than "sweet". Yeah, I'll show a motherfucker how sweet I am. Tell him to bring that dick over here. I've been sharpening my teeth with a pencil sharpener. evillol

falloff

Seriously though, it's all results of a negative stereotype that gay people are weak and feminine.

Its not a "gay thing" Andy. He is not talking about gays.

Sweet is not a "gay exclusive" phrase. There are a lot of efeminate men who are not gay but t5hat's beside the point. He's talking about rappers truning hip-hop into romance music. The watering down of the genre. Its not about homosexuality.

Drake has been on the receiving end of the business more than once. Ludacris got at him recently, too.

When you contribute to watering down a genre, you often become a target. Ask Nickleback. lol

Drake honestly is being something that he’s not. I used to hate dude but not now.. Drake is nothing but a pop artist I think when more people see that they won’t be so turned off from him being real hip hop or not. But it’s understandable for those that still have an issue with him... I like take care though.

Drake seems more comfortable singing pop music than hip-hop.

Co-sign. And I bet they both have shaved dicks, too.

The lack of real, slammin´ Funk on the radio in the style of Cameo, ZAPP, Midnight Star, the Whispers, Rick James is baffling me. I mean, I don´t expect those old or dead dudes to still be played 24/7 on the radio but come on, at least there could be SOME young folks who kinda continue with this artform and create some new millenium Funk, but no...you really have to dig very deep these days to find some obscure new Funk groups somewhere on the internet...but THIS kind of shit is in the news? Dudes who use racial slurs or broken grammar and homophobia, and then still have the nerve to pretend to be nice guys? Gimme a break.

I like some of Common´s songs but he´s not all that he thinks he is. He should know better. I´m getting a bit tired of his anti-gay shtick.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
