Ya forgot this one:

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I never thought that they were very vocally gifted. Ralph has a fairly decent tone, but the rest of 'em can't sing 2 save their lives.

Further, I think tonally they're about as pleasing to the ear as Justin Beiber, which isn't saying much at all. How they came to be so acclaimed in R&B history is what further perplexes me as there have always been so much better out there who ended up beNEATH N.E. despite larger levels of talent both vocally and instrumentally. Of course, this talent would exclude Johnny. How or why he would want 2b part of a band that's so mediocre is puzzling to me. Bobby Brown's talent or lack thereof is puzzling too.

To ME, N.E. has and STILL sounds like a bunch of prepubescent boys whining their way through songs that others with WAY MORE vocal talent can do and with incredibly better results. Strictly my OWN opinion. I just never found them 2b as incredibly talented as most others have/do.

I DO LIKE the song "Hit Me Off" though. That joint is KILLAH. smile

"Heartbreak" hands down is their best album IMO. A close 2nd is "Home Again".

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
