I can see that. I definitely played "Bobby" just as much as "Don't Be Cruel"....and "Bobby" has a lot of gems on it..."Humpin Around", "Got to Get Away", "Loving You Down", "That's The Way Love Is" but my favorite is "College Girl".

New Edition performed in the Bronx over the weekend! If I had of been thinking clearly I would've got me some tix When I really thought about it the show was already sold out!!!!

'Don't Be Cruel' & 'Bobby' are both really good; the other two are pretty weak, imo...

Never been a big bobby fan, don't care for his voice much. But i do love a lot of the tracks on Don't Be cruel.. so it's worth checking out?

Don't Be Cruel is definitely worth checking out. Start there and if you really dig it check out the others.

The Bobby album was his best followed by Don't Be Cruel. Bobby was a step in maturity for Bobby. THe Forever album had good songs it didn't flat out suck it was just a flop on the charts but the problems he was having with Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, & Ronnie DeVoe on the New Edition Home Again Tour and him being in too deep into drugs by then was a problem. At that time Ralph Tresvant & Johnny Gill wanted to help him bad as for BBD they didn't really care cause on the Home Again tour he & Ricky wasn't talking like brothers should & he was having fist fights with Mike & Ronnie on the regular and it reared its ugly head during a tour date in New Mexico where guns were drawn. It was the drugs so he wasn't all there. Glad Bobby is better now and they are all getting along once again.

I remember liking "Girl Next Door" from King of Stage. I wore it out. I don't recall the album cuts though..... Loved the Cameo (Larry Blackmon) sound it had on it.

1992 is when the Bobby album was dropped it had Humpin Around, Get Away, Good Enough, Something In Common with Whitney Houston & That's The Way Love Is as singles.

Two of those singles were written & produced by Babyface & LA Reid and the other ones were done by Teddy Riley with help from folks like Redhead Kingpin, Bernard Belle etc.

Blackstreet sang background vocals on that album along with Bernard Belle & Omar Chandler on 7 songs. Babyface sang background on all the songs he produced on the album while LA Reid played the drums, Babyface did the keyboards. Ricky Bell sang background on the song Pretty Little Girl along with Babyface and you can hear them both clearly.

His body was banging during this period. He had gained a little more weight and took up more time in the gym. He was scrawny and skinny during the "Don't Be Cruel" days...but when the "Bobby" album came out, he was right. He nearly had a 6 pack in the "That's the way love is" video.

And I listened to New Edition for many years too, but I'm checking these all out and they are better than I remember if I have seen them. Humpin Around sounds even better than I remember and like it could have easily been a TLC or Janet song,did Teddy Riley do this one? It also makes me think of the Dangerous era. And yeah, I guess he is kind of cute in the Bobby era now, in the glasses and with his moves. I always thought he was a good dancer cause of the other songs I knew, but he's moving really well, kind of a dorky cute though. In the 90's I know people were unfair about him and Whitney though we know about her behaviour too, and the last I heard, he was doing well on Behind the Music and watched the special with my mom which really put him in a good light

They did backup on all the Teddy Riley produced songs and they kicked it in the studio with Bobby and his crew of course. LA & Babyface did Humpin Around, Good Enough, & Pretty Little Girl. Babyface sang background on all of those songs. Whitney Houston & Chante Moore sang background on Good Enough, Babyface Bobby & Emanuel Officer DeRock sang background on Humpin Around. He seemed to have done the opposite with "Bobby" versus "Don't Be Cruel". Seems like DBC was mostly produced by LaFace, where as he gave Teddy the bulk of the work on "Bobby." Probably due to the huge success of "My Perogative".
