Actually, they've been there and done that. I wish I were lying. I'm vegan, and although I'm really disappointed by Janet's choice, it's also pretty much a fact that PETA are a bunch of racist, misogynist, generally ignorant dumbfucks. I can't think of a single celebrity they've ever converted with their hostile, holier-than-thou attitude. They seem to somehow think that by trying to make people miserable they can save animals -- because yeah, ridiculing someone is totally going to win you to their cause.

Also, anyone noticed how funny it is that PETA's so pressed over Janet wearing fur, yet they then accuse her of being irrelevant? Because a bunch of fame whores like PETA would totally be up in the panties of someone who's irrelevant. If they're giving her this much attention, it's obvious that she's pretty damn important. lol

And PETA's recoiled anger only makes Janet even more relevant. Thanks PETA...

nod It's to the point where anybody who's anybody has pissed PETA off at some point and rode on the free publicity. Hell, Janet probably planned this shit. razz

Depends on where you are....It's commonly accepted now that humans actually started getting HIV by eating the meat of infect...impanzees. (See the bottom of page 1 on that article.) It's not very common, but it's not unheard of.

This reminds me of the Dave Chappelle bit where he joked about people getting HIV from monkey pussy. lol I don't know why anyone would eat someone that looks like us somewhat. Ew. They deserved it if they are doing that.

Thing is they were on her clit as early as June I believe when that ad came out. Acting like they were doing something. PETA keep on being a laughingstock and don't realize it, that's what funny not to mention racist and sexist.

LOL! I love that man.

As far as eating primates, I don't know, I mean, it all depends on what your needs are. We don't really know why people were eating that type of bushmeat in the first place. In the Poisonwood Bible, one of my favorite books, they say "Everything you're sure is right can be wrong in another place." I'd imagine it could be pretty difficult to find food in the savannah, so hey, if that's all you have to eat, that's all you have. *cues up Timon and Pumba eating insects and singing Hakuna Matada* I do agree that it is pretty gross. I'm vegan, but if I had to choose chicken vs. chimp.....Yeah. It wouldn't be much of a contest.

Right? It's like they're totally fixated on her, some kinda sick obsession. When I saw her in concert this summer there were some PETA idiots outside of the venue singing songs that called her a bitch and shit, with these shitty homemade banners. If I hadn't been so paralyzed with shock, I would have led everyone in a rousing round of "Escapade." This is what I encourage anybody to do if they see PETA out front of a Janet concert. Drown those fuckers out. Support animal rights, but don't support PETA. PETA doesn't stand for shit. (Yeah, I get a little heated about PETA....)

well, I eat meat. as for now it is not fully proved that we can live healthly without having animal proteins in a long term diet. It is not well known the effects that that kind of diet in a long term 4 the individual or their future generations. But then it's the food chain, it's necessary unless someone fully proves otherwise. U all keep talking about PETA...I really don't know much about them...never paid 2 much attention. Yeah, they were "protesting" outside. (More like putting up a racket with their poorly tuned acoustic guitars and nonexistent musical talent...) From what I hear they didn't show up at too many of her concerts -- this was in the Midwest. I imagine they were too cowardly to risk the wrath of Jan's New York fans....

That's the thing that gets me, though. She didn't need the money -- she's not in debt, she's done two successful movies and released a fairly decent selling greatest hits album recently, her tour's been successful, etc. Aside from the PETA nonsense, I don't think it got her much publicity. I don't understand the whole thing or her reasons. It's just sad. I wish I could pull her aside and ask her WHY. sad

Does it really matter where the money is coming from... she has it !!!!!!

Janet Jackson Net Worth 2011

She is ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the richest women in entertainment. Having sold over 100 million records worldwide, she is ranked as one of the best-selling artists in the history of contemporary music. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) lists her as the eleventh best-selling female artist in the United States, [...]

But whatever happen to Freedom Of Choice?

If Janet Jackson, Kanye West, Pete Burns, & Ronald Isley wants to wear animal fur, then that is their choice and their personal business. Who in the hell is PETA to be telling people what they can AND cannot do with animals?

I don't eat pigs/swines because they are unclean. But I'm not going to deny the Freedom Of Choice of my fellow man OR woman that wants to eat ham, pork bacon, & pork chops by their own free will. But organizations like PETA would still pop a freaking attitude that killing pigs/swines are inhumane. Well excuse you people of PETA, but there are no such thing as non-inhumane ways to kill animals for food.

Maybe she likes Blackglama and their collection? Maybe she wanted to do the campaign because she felt like it? Just because you don't approve of her actions, doesn't take away her right to do them.

Actually, i don't give a fuck about organizations like PETA and what they want . I find these kind of organizations and their stupid statements fake as hell. I found the particular statement about ms. Jackson, idiotic, to say the least. Can’t take them seriously, unfortunately. I prefer other, more quite organizations that have really done a great job concerning the animals. What i can't understand is that woman's choice to parade with dead animals on her and laughing like an idiot. Obviously she doesn't need the money so why this kind of things that has to do with killing unprotected creatures?

You spoke about freedom of choice. Do this people give the freedom of choice when they butcher in the most cruel and disgusting way those animals? Would ms. Jackson and all those fur and leather lovers continue to wear furs if they were there when those animals were being tortured in order to have their skin removed? Well, if the answer is yes, then they should face the same fate as those animals.

Unfortunately, i can't laugh about issues like this or take them light hearted. I find them very serious especially since I have been a witness to their torture. Those animals are dying suffering, trembling and screaming from the pain.

For me Janet Jackson’s move was an epic fail, especially when I read that in the past she has made comments about being against animal torturing. I love the irony. But hey, since she made money, that is what matters. The rest of us are obvioulsy jealus of her money making capability. You go Janet. Next time aim for the African lions. Yay for Janet! I'm not for wearing furs, leather, or scales (any skin that isn't yours really), but anyone or anything that pisses off PETA has my vote. I work with animals and have never liked the organization and refuse to support their terroristic ideals...yes I think they are a borderline terrorist organization because they seem to like to terrorize anyone who chooses not cuddle every single living animal they encounter - except snakes because I've been told that they don't perticularly care for them much because they have to eat leaving animals to survive. Maybe when they start picketing puppy stores I may gain a small amount of respect for them. The majority of puppy stores support puppy mills and cause crowding in shelters which means animals get put to sleep. IMO, they are just as cruel a business as how fur is obtained. If people choose to think PETA is great more power to them; but, I wish this organization would just disappear all ready. All just my twocents .

highfive let those dipshits try to do something to Janet and I'd be skinning some PETA folks. Those assholes need to be adopting dogs on the kill list and stop worrying about who's wearing this fur or carrying this alligator bag. PETA needs to be like the ASPCA and stop bitching about what people are wearing and start really saving lives. Please spay and neuter your pets and adopt from shelters instead of buying from puppy stores and breeders. Now that's saving lives.
