This video amused me a bit, besides the fact i hate Ne-Hoes music as he sounds like one of Ushers boyfriends, this video i found was funny.

Ne-Yo is basically saying if your heavier, you won't be very big. Yet Adele outsold everybody this year, including him. In fact did his album even go plantinum?

Anywho, i get it we live in a shallow world yada yada. But i think it's dumb people make it such a big issue, if your talented your fucking talented. Who cares if your overweight, this just kind of make's me even happier Adele destroyed everybody this year! proving you don't need titty shots or c shaped vagins to get hits.

I didn't watch the video because I'm definitely not a Ne-Yo fan so I don't care to hear anything he has to say, but based on what you've said, he isn't completely wrong. Sure you said that Adele is heavy and has outsold everyone, ok, but you don't think come in a year or two you going to start seeing her slim down? It happens with all the women who "embrace" their curves in the entertainment industry...and men who were heavy have dropped pounds too. First there was Monique who was proud to be fat then she slimmed down. Though she's nowhere near skinny after her weight loss, but the point is SOMEONE told her that she needed to lose weight and she did. Look at J-Hud...I don't remember her having a problem with her a weight when she was big but after she won that Oscar, then slim down she went. Next we have Raven-Symone...she was another spokesperson for being proud to be big, now she's lost weight too. Jonah Hill, Rosanne Barr, Al Roker, Oprah Winfrey, Faith Evans, Forrest Whitaker, Marsha Ambrosius, and on and on and on.

The point is that Adele got her status for being a great singer-songwriter.

If she loses weight after this, great for her.

But remember, she didn't have to be skinny and sell out to get in the charts.

Her music was FIRST.

It very rarely happens, usually they'll just lose weight afterwards. But I'm sure adele's going to keep the whole fat girl witha good voice thing going

You guys can't use Adele as an example. She's the exception to the rule. Ne-Yo is right. I love fat singers if the voice is good, myself.

As a general rule, they very seldom are offerred the same opportunities as their thinner counterparts. Yes, Adele may have outsold everyone last year, but will she ever be as popular as Beyonce or Rhianna, who, vocally, are less talaneted? The answer is "NO". I still can't name a single Adele song. Unfortunately, I can name one, maybe two, Beyonce or Rhianna songs because of the fact their songs are crammed down everyone's throats while Adele's songs have not received the same attention in the media as Beyonce, Rhianna and Lady Ga Ga.

The 80's and 90's were filled with full-figured artists who were complaining that their labels were not promoting them and pressuring them to lose weight because they were not "video-friendly". We live in a shallow world where you are absolutely judged by your looks. And no matter how talented you are, the music business remains more visual than audio. And if you don't have "the package", then you risk not getting your music out there. Adele has been very lucky and definately the exception to the rule. But, I can imagine all of the little Aretha's and Luther's running around out there trying to get record deals but these labels won't even consider them because of their weight.

That is true Jazmine Sullivan is another artist that is very talented. But don't get the promotion she deserves almost to the point of considering leaving the music business. She is really fat.But her label hides it airbrushing making her thin in pictures.
