Cool, I have seen her twice on her NA part 2 tour and the gigs were quite different from each other. The gig in July had her bring her new drummer who is only 16yrs old, she had her sister on backing vox, and a new backing singer who is only 15, and she explained she found him on youtube and invited him on tour. Great gigs.

Love, love, LOVE her! Been into her music since day one ( I still remember when I bought the On & On single) and I´ve been following her career eversince. I´ve lost interest in some of my favorite artists over the years but I´m still very interested in Ms.Badu. Have seen her live two times so far. I like her current band, especially the bass guitarist and that young kid on the drums. Her last two albums were a bit too sketchy and not really fleshed out in my opinion but I still loved them. My favorite album of hers is still Mama´s Gun, followed closely by Digital Underground. I´d be happy if she´d focus a bit more on the lyrics and melodies and maybe come up with an album that is a bit reminiscent of Mama´s Gun and Digital Underground. Loved the music and the lyrics on those. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" | |

Love to see that unlike her peers in R&B, Erykah hasn't stopped experimenting with her sound and style. For that she gets my utmost respect. No one is doing it like Badu. Current R&B musicians (I'm looking at you Jill and Angie), take some lessons. | |

I don't think I EVER fell instantly in love upon the first listen of all of her albums, but when I did eventually, I fell hard.
Her music is like strong steaming coffee to me, could be bitter and burn the tip of your tongue, but the after effect is SO worth it
