TTD's Symphony or Damn After rediscovering D'arby's debut album...I FINALLY bought Symphony or Damn (at a used CD place). Man, was I missing out. This should have been the follow up to the debut. A kick ass collection of songs. MUCH better than Fish or Flesh...or whatever the second album was called.
Fave tracks on Symphony or Damn: She Kissed Me Do You Love Me Like You Say? Delicate Penelope Please (very Prince-like) Are You Happy? But the whole thing is very good. For you TTD fans out there...is Vibrator as good as this? Where has he been?? Didn't he change his name too? Need to catch up with this guy.

TTD is a artist I really respect and like. Like a George Michael, his songwriting chops gets overlooked a great deal. Brother can pen a song. He reminds me of Ali{in his prime}. He may a little cocky and run his mouth, but the brother can surely back it up on the musical front.

congratulations on your discovery! Symphony or damn is certainly TTD's masterpiece! Vibrator is pretty good also, but I think Wild Card (the newest one) is better. If you go here www.sanandapromotion.com you can order the new one for pretty cheap (like 15 bucks, including shipping!). Enjoy!

Thanks for the link...cool to see he's alive and kicking. But Sananda? whatever...I guess its better than , at least you can say Sananda. It's still fuck up tho.
I just ordered Vibrator. So what is the deal with Wild Card, its not available in the US except as an import? Is it worth the $20?

Strangely enough, I can't really get into his debut album. But I love Symphony, Vibrator, and Wildcard. I think Vibrator is the best though!

Supernova ...we usually have similar musical tastes...I'm shocked. This is one of the best CDs of the 90's.

I think SoD is a masterpiece, especially the last three songs are simply beautiful: I still love you, Seasons and Let her down easy.
Wildcard! is tha bomb. It gets a spin almost every day, you really have to get in the album but the moment you do..you´re hooked. I have seen him at Paradiso Amsterdam a couple of months ago, he was great! If he´s in your area, go and see him. --------------------------------------------------

Girl, you better get that one back!! Thank you, Jasper, for mentioning "SEASONS" - it's THE best song on the album, maybe the best song TTD's ever done. It's simply amazing... Let Her Down Easy is another beautiful one off that album. It's not song for song, but it's a must-have for any TTD fan...

you gotta get the 7" white vinyl version of "let her easy". it's really different from the cd. he sings this one like he did on letterman. just beautiful.

I don't think I listened to it more than one and a half times. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Turn the Page is indeed a great one too, Succumb to me is one of my favorites, the sottering (did I spell that ok) in that song is fantastic. --------------------------------------------------

Probably TTD's best album in my opinion. It's his Sign O the Times... a crazy eclectic collection of some incredible music.

You know, I really can't decide which TTD is better - Symphony or Damn OR Vibrator I think there's more songs to like on Vibrator BUT the songs I like on Symphony are incredibly strong & stick w/ you longer than Vibrator: Seasons, Turn the Page, Do You Love Me Like You Say, Succumb to Me, Are You Happy, Let Her Down Easy, Neon Messiah & Delicate vs. If You Go Before Me, Vibrator, SuperModel Sandwich (& w/ Cheese), Undeniably, It's Been Said, We Don't Have That Much Time Together, CYFMLAY?, Surrender I'm torn!

My Favourite D`Arby-Albums are:
1. Vibrator 2. Symphony or Damn 3. Introducing The Hardline 4. Wild Card See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

Although I LOVE "Symphony Or Damn" (my favourite tracks being "Wet Your Lips"and "She Kissed Me") my favourite TTD /Sananda album is "Vibrator". It combines so many different musical styles and IMO ALL songs are really fantastic, there's not one single song on "Vibrator" that I don't really love. "Wildcard" is also a very strong album, so if anyone hasn't got it already, go and buy it! With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I can't believe you even tried mentioning "Surrender" in a positive light. Such melodramatic bullshit has not been smelt since Prince was listening to too much Queen and record "3 Chains of Gold"
