RJ... this thread is about Beyonce "4" sales... so sales are going to be discussed and based on some comments in this thread related to Beyonce "4" sales other artists were brought up to make points associated with sales.... doesnt mean people care about sales.(This is a music discussion so at times things may go off topic and get back on but its all closely related together..) I ONLY brought up Adele to point out an observation I wasnt even trying to make a serious point with it. Beyonce had everything in front of her for success, good promotion, etc.. the public didnt receive it as well as they did HER PAST works... impressively and shockingly they pulled more to an artist like Adele (who makes non generic pop music) who ended up having more music success this year than Beyonce WITHOUT PR antics or promotion but me and you both know this I dunno why we are arguing about this... You must really enjoy arguing for no reason...

Also, I hope you will be singing the same tune when you talk about other artists... since sales suddenly dont mean nothing to you when your posts suggest otherwise neutral

GIRL you'd better just admit album sales do mean something to you so you can quit while you're ahead.

Im not going to admit to something I dont give a shit about but its obvious it means alot to YOU... ROTFL

I think America has finally burnt out on Beyonce. The songs just aren't all that good, either.

I'm not a "hater". I love the first album, but to be honest, it's the only one I own. Every album since the first has been less creative, interesting, catchy (etc.) and it has been a lot of going through the motions. Releasing seven videos (singles?) is very desperate and insane oversaturation. You have to give people a chance to get into one song. If one song bombs, don't just keep releasing more. Wait! Besides Adele, no one is setting the world on fire with sales. The fact that Beyonce doesn't have hit songs anymore is the bigger concern. She (well, someone creative) needs to really slow down and think about the next album.

I agree with that. They spreaded their support thin with multiple radio releases. I don't know if they intentionally released multiple songs to rush the era along because of the pregnancy or if it was just plain ol disorganization/poor planning. I guess nowadays there's no such thing as having a song "grow on you". confused

Exactly. It like Beyonce and her team just decided to throw everything at the wall, hoping that something will stick. They were hoping that some of these singles would resonate with the public but apparently, that never happened. It would be better to slow down, focus on one song at the time, allow a song to grow on people (as you put it).

lowkey

if damita jo and 20 yo are considered flops then so is beyonce's album. janet's career was done, the music sucked, ect, ect but for beyonce its no big deal, its still platinum blah blah. r&b charts didnt matter much but now since its beyonce its still a success.why the double standards?
