T-Boz and Bow Wow are flat broke

from the NY Post:

Which hip-hop artist drove up to his agent’s office in a $200,000 car, wearing a $50,000 wristwatch, to beg for money because he’s “dead broke” and needed $5,000 for child support? . . .

It turns out that the Blind Item might have been about rapper Bow Wow after all.

According to gossip website TMZ.com, the taxman cometh for both Bow Wow and singer Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins for unpaid taxes.

TMZ found documents filed in Florida by the federal government that says Weezyowes the government exactly $91,105.61 in unpaid taxes for the year 2006.

T-Boz’s tax troubles are a little more complicated.

TMZ says the 41-year-old mother of one owes creditors $768,642.99 — mostly from mortgages on her $1.2 million house located in a suburb of Atlanta.

she filed bankruptcy to shield her from her creditors.

But when you file for bankruptcy, you are required to open up your personal finances to ridicule and scorn. It seems that T-Boz, who once commanded hundreds of thousands of dollars in music royalties, now receives only $1,200 per month in royalties.

And the singer who once owned a string of children’s clothing boutiques, now brings in around $11,000 a month, with monthly expenses in excess of $8,821.

T-Boz is still struggling to collect over $250,000 in unpaid child support for her daughter by former rapper Mack 10, who hasn’t had a hit record in over a decade.

I would like to say T-Boz is a member of my favorite female group of all time TLC. Bow Wow who I met & worked with years ago was very humble & approachable. So i really didn't want to post this story & did some editing of the negative things that were said about them. I hope things get better for them.

Bow wow was in Tyler Perry's last movie "Madea's Big Happy Family" & "Roll Bounce" to name a few. He is actually a good actor. He has a lot of screen presence.

i blame the record industry they make mega millions off these artist and they get chicken feed in the end. bow wow would make a great actor film and tv i think he should start taking as many jobs as he can get he is still very young and can turn it all around. far as his music keep touring on big tours like the chris brown fame tour and that will rack in some loot. mz tboz can do some acting and screen playing writing like she did with drumline

As Soon as you "make it" you never live like you "made it"... advice from a friend's father who made it in the 1970's as a studio musican and then in a band... and he was pretty much broke because he didnt take that advice from people that told him that!

yep. that works even if you've not 'made it'. a little over 15 years ago, i was an admin asst who worked with a consultant whose background was in accounting. he told me that every little raise i get, put it over into my 401(k). he told me not to touch it, unless there was a dire emergency. by and large, i stuck to his advice. i'm no longer an admin, so i have a large salary, but i always pay myself first. bills and savings *first*, then whatever else i have is what i can spend on eating out and fun stuff. if i get down to a few bucks in my checking account, then oh well. i'm having beans until payday; i do not touch my savings.

even with the stock market crash, my nest egg is way larger than it would have been had i not taken the consultant's advice back then.

i can understand buying something nice for yourself. if i came into six-figures all of a sudden, i would buy *a* nice car, not three. i would buy *one* house that i could afford to heat and cool if my income dropped to $40K per year, not two houses or too big of a house. people like to front for other people, though.

Very good advice.

Sad..very sad. No reason to have all these expensive items and make payments on them. Buy them outright and make an investment out of it or leave it alone. Purchase a nice house for yourself full price so that only utility bills are due.

I dont know these people personally however this is proof that living 'large' doesnt mean living over your own self. I wonder how many people Bow Wow had on his payroll.

How is Bow Wow broke when he has been making movies and running with YMCMB? They are supposed to take care of their artists. This is some wackness!

I agree. Once you think you "made" it, you're set back. That's why when people get into the industry, they should learn about the business first, don't care how old they are.

Same here

I think he needs to just go head on into acting, cause he's pretty good and change his name completely to his real name. Start using it more and more until people catch on that Shad Moss used to be Lil Bow Wow

Same with Queen Latifah. She used her name on her album Dana Owens

She need to use it more. She's beyond that rapper now

Underrated (2011)

Bow Wow signed to Cash Money Records in 2009,[16] and his next album Underrated will be released on November 1, 2011. The album will feature with Birdman, Boyz II Men, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Fabolous, Game, Lil Wayne, Lloyd Banks, Meek Mill, Nas, Nelly, Nicki Minaj, Sean Kingston, Snoop Dogg, Styles P and Talib Kweli. The first promo single being "For My Hood", featuring DJ Khaled & Sean Kingston.[17] On November 1, 2010, Bow Wow released his first single from the album entitled Ain't Thinkin' 'Bout You featuring Chris Brown. The music video was a success on 106 and Park and made the countdown in just 1 day. Two weeks later it peaked number 1 on the chart and remained number 1 for 3 days. On June 23, the first single from of his album called "I'm Da Man", which features Chris Brown, was leaked.

His family supported him through his choice of music as a career.[21]

Bow Wow now lives in Atlanta, Georgia, along with his mother, who owns a clothing store in the Atlantic Station area of Atlanta, named "Taste".[22]
