What do you think of hip hop concerts? Whenever I hear an artist I like is performing I often considering buying a ticket. However, if it is a rapper, even one of my favourites, I don't feel like going! Unless maybe if it was a verrrrry rare appearence. In a live concert you may here the songs, different arrangement, some nice collaborations, some nice solos. I'm sure there are exceptions, but for the most part is seems in rap concerts the artist often just raps the lyrics over the pre-recorded instrumental. A club performace? Yeah that's cool, but going to an arena, I'm not so sure. |

I agree to an extent.
The thing that usually turns me off of hip hop shows is the vocal delivery. It is so strange to me that alot of MCs sound smooth as butter on the record, but then they get up on stage and scream out the words.
I always blame the sound guy tho. I mean why else would the MC scream out unless either the skill is faked or the levels are wrong. |

I always wondered why rapper hold the actual mic rather than the handle. That's probably why they scream so much. PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

For rappers nowadays the skill is usually faked. I think the screaming is done on purpose. They try to hype the crowds up by doing that but its hella annoying and you cant understand a word they are saying.

Besides the ones where I've had to run due to the fights that broke out? Those were nice. |
