this whole generation hasnt been able to carve out an identity because its crazed with the past and cant invent something for themselves. I mean wtf is this? i mean really, she isnt even remotely sexy, she has no stage presence and half the vocals are off-stage singers, i mean i have seen girls in clubs do better sex moves and had to pay nothing to see them do it,.

Just Jared loves it and has a review posted. I may have to check this disc out.

Have you listened to the snippets? confused

This album might be even more bland and less interesting than her last project, impossible as that might sound.

Talk That Talk audio

Album leak is all over the place already, album has nothing new same pattern for her, im not sure what album JustJared was listening too, because she really is just pulling out the gimmicks from what has worked for her in the past, so in that respect she is smart or her people are for keeping her painting by numbers. No really awful tracks except the single and that horrid Cockiness track, however no track where im saying WOW thats impressive

Just got through watching a few seconds of this Darling Nikki video and wow what a disaster. I mean, why is it that it looks like she never gets BETTER with her performances? She always has this look where she's just going through the motions and very half-assed and uninspired about everything...man this chick is garbage

I heard the new album and I find it pretty perfect for what it is. a fun, feel good Pop record.

the reviews sure weren't exaggerating on that Where Have You Been track, it's insanely catchy. that and the title track are sure my highlights of the album.

I don't get the Erotica comparisons though. to me it sounds more of a sequel to her own Good Girl Gone Bad album.

nod So true. One thing I find interesting is that for as sex-obsessed as most music is lately, very little of it is actually very sexy. Like somebody said about Rihanna, it's as if they're all just going through the motions. Literally and figuratively. We have emoticons here that are sexier than some of the shit on the radio.

Talk That Talk leaked yesterday, So I downloaded it. But it's not the deluxe version yet... And one song ''Birthday Cake'' isn't completed. I think it's a okay pop record. Enjoyable, but still not very good like GGGB or Rated R.

It's just Loud part 2 for me, tbh. But not as good as Loud(well, not that I liked Loud that much... lol. But you get what I mean..)

Eh, i will admit sure the girl has some catchy song[hey i'm young & they always play them at the club lol ]. But i just don't believe her image...... you guys may think i'm crazy. But i don't imagine her telling dozens of guys to ''fuck her'' or getting her ass in the air for her bf's.

While Madonna i did think she was most definitely doing that, giving blow jobs in alleys & airplanes the whole deal: lol:

And of course many have already said it Erotica wasn't exactly dirty, Where Life Begins references eating out, but i doubt Rihanna has a song that clever on her album.

I have heard some filthy records, of every genre especially pop. Hell not like Rihanna is making a song like Sister! Or pussy control.

Her songs are songs i dance to at the club not listen to outside of it... now if she did do a Secret Garden or Bad Girl type song and video.. i might dig that.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

The standard version has leaked, and I must say, this SUX!!! Sounds so half assed, not that she ever really sounded amazing, but from what I've heard so far, most of these tracks have no hook, the music sounds cheap and really made at the last moment, and as for the Erotica similarities, quite frankly, there are none! Oh and the vocals, I'd rather listen to a pig be tortured, this girl sounds really bad on this album, she needs auto tune asap! shake

Of course it will probably be a hit in this tragic music climate... disbelief

Hey baby! Don't get me in here actin' silly now! You're not taping this are you... ????

Yeah, I listened to it and it doesn't live up to the hype. And I like her and I liked Loud. This new album is just full of smutty lyrics. I don't have a problem with smutty lyrics, but it's getting a bit redundant.

completely agree!! the people these ddays are really pastiche of earlier artists. they're the equivilant of bad photo copies. they have lived life viariously and or thru the internet so they have few real life experiences to pull from and bring to their work. that's why some much of it rings hollow....

but then im almost 40 so.... most things these days are crap imo. it just seems to me that the spirit has changed.

my 2 cents

According to The Dream, Rihanna is already working on a new album! "Yeah, We go in to work with Rihanna on the next album in 3 weeks, she is a beast!"

The RihannaNavy must sure be celebrating right now. Ever since the Birthday Cake snippet was released online, social networks like Twitter and Facebook were aroused by the sensual and dirty nature of the track but disappointed that it was an interlude lasting only 1 minute and 18 seconds. The-Dream, who wrote and produced the song, now tells Boombox that the interlude will be turned into a full song. Looks like Rihanna listened to her fans. Read below

I was just talking to Rihanna about that, because she [originally] made an [just an] interlude. I was like, “Your fans are going to be so mad at you.” As soon as I said that, I got back, and I guess she released a piece of it, and they saw how long it is. Man, they tore me up on Twitter! So I hit her on the phone. I was like, “Yo, your fans, they’re going crazy on me right now, like I could make you do something.” So ‘Birthday Cake’ is on there. It’s going to turn into a whole song because the fans are ganging up on me, and I don’t want to be murdered by the Rihanna Navy!

There’s another record I did with her called ‘Red Lipstick,’ and another song called ‘Do Your Thang,’ which is probably [one of] the more lighter records on there. I was more called in to fill in the blanks. She’s just so great at putting her records in. She did a great job utilizing what [songwriter] Ester Dean does, who is like my little sister, for this album. I think she has six or seven records on that album. Dean is locked in to what Rihanna’s doing at this particular moment, which is great. I’m at a place where you can call me in as a songwriter, but Ri calls me in as a friend that’s going to make an unbiased decision, not just because I’m trying to get on the record. If it doesn’t need me on the record, I’m not going to get on the record.

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman
