Adele reaches "Titanic" feat despite voice troubles

Adele reaches 'Titanic' milestone despite voice issues
ANI Oct 30, 2011, 03.05PM IST

Adele's latest album '21' has reached a milestone last achieved by the 'Titanic' soundtrack back in 1998 in spite of having trouble with her vocal chords.

The British singer has been forced to cancel all of her 2011 performances as a result of a planned throat surgery.

However, '21' has again reached its number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 as it maintains its top position for the 13th week.

It's the first album to spend that many weeks at number one since the soundtrack for the motion picture 'Titanic'.

According to Billboard.com, "21" is this year's biggest selling album with over 4 million copies sold, reports Fox News.

Its quite easy to avoid it if you dont listen to the radio or watch television.

Why? Beyonce has almost never owned a year, except maybe the "Dangerously in Love" year that was about it. Just because you have product out every year doesnt mean its your year

Gotcha. She is everywhere though. I live a pretty active social life and seems like she has been dominating radio for months.

She has sold 11 million copies worldwide and her album still selling over 100,000 copies a week so it may get to 5 million before the end of the year or maybe after Grammy night 2012.

I completely agree with you. But when you think about it, that's how its been for her at least Grammy wise. Regardless of her record's content or caliber, Beyonce always seemed to be nominated or won even without deserving it. She may not have owned an entire year like Adele but she sure did rack up some Grammy nominations and wins in the meantime.

Although she didn't dominate the charts or sales with 4, I bet you that the good ol folks at the Grammy's won't hesitate to nominate her for most R&B categories and she still might win one. Beyonce is like John Mayer. It's an unwritten rule that whatever he/she release, it must be recognized either with mad nominations or wins. No exceptions. Maybe this year will be different. idk. (kanye shrug)
