Remy Shand fans? I think his debut album "The Way I Feel" was highly slept on. This has been the first guy to complete his entire debut from the playing to the engineering in a long time.
Any fans? | |

Remy Shand is GREAT! His debut CD 'The Way I Feel' is excellent, probably the best CD I bought last year. His music is richly soulful and melodic, and it's obvious that he is a HUGE fan of 70s soul music.Songs like "Burning Bridges","I Met Your Mercy","Rock Steady" and "Looking Back On Vanity" are simply breathtaking and I look forward to his next CD.

He was the jam at work last year. A few coworkers and I went to a show. He was alright, but his music was definitely a surprise. At first we didn't know what to think, but he won us over immediately. I was listening to that cd daily for what seemed like months. Occasionally play him at work or first thing in the morning. Hopefully he will come back with new material in a year or so. He's nominated in a couple of R&B categories. One that is really suspicious is I think "Best Traditional Vocal R&B." It's odd cuz I thought it was for veteran artists. Maybe I misinterpreted it or maybe it was an error. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Love and still play it 1 or 2 times a week. Easily a top 3 R&B album of 2002 and maybe the last 5 years. This was the best debute album I have heard since Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite. Seems some people had their minds made up they weren't going to dig him from the get go. I was just thinking to myself Saturday while listening to "I Met Your Mercy" what if Dangleo had done that song? For that matter what if D had done this album and not Remy. We would still be hearing about how it was the greatest soul album of our time. It's all about image. Hope Remy takes home some hardware. He deserves it. I really hate the way it got slept on by the neo-soul masses because it goes way beyond the neo. It's pure soul. His falsetto isn't too crisp but the boy made a damn good album. I got a hold of some of a few live performances at the Paradiso last year and his band is pretty tight.

Yes, I loved his album. I'm anxiously awaiting his next effort. I was disappointed by a lot of the negative reaction toward him by some folks here, but I think he's great and I'm glad some others agree.

what a pleasent surprize that at the LasVegas the Dj had jammed for about an hour spinning Prince after the soundcheck. After which Dudley put in The Way I Feel and let the whole Cd play while he went to change.
needless to say I continued to jam!
