True classic. For more chick rock produced by Kim Fowley check out Dyan Diamond, particularly her song "Western Avenue." Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. What did you guys think about the film bio? It was on cable just a couple nights ago.
Stars Dakota Fanning and that chick from the Twilight movies. I only watched a little bit so I can't give it a fair assessment. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer. |

Like i mentioned to timmy, they screened at my film school. And.. i liked it, i mean i despise Kristen Stewarts Personality & acting ususally, but she did ok i thought. Dakota was great, and Michael Simpson was a great Kim F.
It was a bit silly in parts, and some of it was bullshit

The Hollywood flick was OK but you guys should check out the Runaways docu that came out back in 2006 or 07.
It was a good retrospect on the group and had a lot of never before seen footage of them in their heyday. But some of the REAL things mentioned about Kim Fowley and what he put the girls thru
is sad and very creepy.
Lita Ford speaks a lot in the film about the rise and fall of the band. Def. worth checking out if
you haven't seen it. I know Joan Jett tried to block the release of it but was unsuccesful. |

I hope this isn't off-topic, but do everyone else think it's a damn shame that even years later, Joan Jett AND Lita Ford hate each others guts?!?
This about it, we're talking about drama that has happen with The Runaways 3 1/2 decades ago. |

Apparently the beef is over how Cheri got fired. Joan was the only one protesting Cheri being dropped from the group. She apparently took Cheri's side in Cheri's argument with Lita over her being the dominant member of the group. I think it was something that was brimming in the process because they were bitter towards each other in the last few months of their tenure together. Plus Joan and Lita saw differences musically: Joan was a glam-influenced punk rocker and Lita was more influenced by hard rock and heavy metal. Joan and Cheri are still friends from what I hear. Yes, they are. And it's their side of the story that dominates all of this film:

Yeah I'm egging to see it myself. Joan was the executive producer of this and she based it off Cheri's autobiography with Cheri's permission. So yeah. Also the original bassist Vicki Fox advised them not to include her in it lol |

ONE BAD THING about the film, is the fact Lita is seen as a crazy mean spirited angry bitch
Lita, her story is barely told, she is just seen as an hungry hussy who fights men, and cusses a lot. I dig Joan a lot and Lita... it seems they would have burried this beef by now. Lita was a bit of an Xena type character back in the day
But she has a family now, and is chill. And of course she also stood by Cheri cause they where lovers after all Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

You have the story mix up a bit. Lita was the one that wanted Cheri out of the band. Joan was the one that fought hard to keep Cheri in the band. |

Yep. So the film definitely didn't have that part wrong. Cheri's exit led to real bad tensions between Lita and Joan. Something that has never been fully healed. |

It also opened a bigger can of worns when Joan became the lead vocalist since Cheri's departure. Can you imagine how difficult it might have been for Joan as a band leader to tell her band mates (especially Lita) how they were going to play their music and have not?!? |

And so they didn't. Jackie Fox was replaced in the movie by a generic character named Robin Roberts (played by Arrested Development's Alia Shawkat). |

Lita's been out there..She's (supposedly) been with:
David Lee Roth
Eddie Van Halen
Paul Stanley
Chris Holmes
Tony Iommi
Some of the dudes in her band (in the early 80's)
Jim Gillette
..Damn!..If she ever needs a guitarist or keyboardist I'm there. |

Yes that was a great doc! With some funny stories
Edgeplay was directed by Vicki and def. worth checking out to hear different sides (minus Joan's).
The commentary on "Runaways" is Joan talking to Dakota and Kristen and they're either talking about what's going on, or Joan's talking about the band, and Kristen's pretty foul mouthed for someone who gives one word answers and acts fidgety in interviews.
