Noel gallaghers solo album Brilliant the sound of a musician totally at ease with his gift with NOTHING to prove
Whichever side of the great Noel / Liam schism you’re on (presuming, of course, you feel compelled to take sides), it’s pretty universally agreed the pair have always done things differently. In one corner, the “shitbag”-tweeting headline generator, who’s dissed his brother and former band from every conceivable angle and in the other, a more, shall we say, reserved sibling who said everything he needed to say in a short press conference and NME interview. 8.4

Got this record yesterday, haven't made my mind up about it yet, it needs a few more listens and time to sink in, the first 4 or 5 songs are great, it's getting rave reviews from most though. There's a fair few of those waltzy type songs, think of "The Importance of Being Idle". I think time will tell if this is a truly great album, every Oasis album since "Heathen Chemistry" has been touted as the "best album since Morning Glory" at the time of its release, so this is no different really. We're here, might as well get into it. | |
