Not a big Madge fan, but I've heard the album and think Four Minutes and She's Not Me are great. Bit too much Justin Timberlake on the album for me though. Is he really so big-headed that he can't co-produce a song without plastering his whiney vocals all over it???

I have not listened to it after I bought it when it was released. I don't like it very much. I prefer her House/trance influenced albums.

confused I dislike this album, idk.... it was just so boring to me. Besides Miles Away i really didn't care for the album. It's up there with Like A Virginf or my least favorite Madonna albums

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Awful album. A pop artist's attempt to go 'street'.

4 Minutes is the only diamond in the bunch. But it's more of a Timberland/Timberlake song.

On the other hand, Ray of Light and Confessions' are still as slammin as the day they came out!

Lets put it THIS way, VoicesCarry tried to warned me and I didn't listen to reason like I should have.

4 Minutes really does suck! disbelief The beats were hot for a moment three years ago. But in the long-term, that is one Madonna track that didn't aged well at all.

Didn't hate it (then). Don't hate it now.

did (and do) u like it?

I did like it. Just not enough to keep it in my collection. Haven't heard it in awhile.

do u think it's already dated?

Yes. Twas dated upon arrival.

do u think it still sounds current/fresh?

No. It wasn't current when released.

do u think it's her worst album ever?

Hmm.. It's on the lower end of the totem pole, but worst? No..

which is your favorite track off the album?

Without having heard any of the tracks in awhile.. "Spanish Lesson". lol

phoned in from beginning to end. there are some nice moments here and there, but she had very little to do with them.

Love this album, it has so many underrated album tracks. It's still unforgiveable how Beat Goes On was not released. My mom heard this song recently and can't stop playing it. It's upbeat and fresh and carefree, just what she wanted. I don't know if it's her best, though it's not awful like people make it out to be, she did a good job combining modern sounds with her early sound and for that, it deserved more sales and promotion. It got airplay in Canada and the tour was a success, so I think it's just the US that can't appreciate her the way the rest of the world does. She worked very well with Timbaland and the Neptunes though it would be redundant if she kept doing it.

My only complaints about the era are that whatever work she did on her face was a distraction (sorry, I know I sound like a hypocrite but it was sad seeing her like that) , and though it was the very first Madonna tour I attended, I had awful seats in the nosebleed section and I think she already peaked a long time ago with her performing on tour though the stage set and design were amazing, and for that, I'll go for the next tour as well.

And the album artwork is nice, I love those candy designs

One of her best albums. I haven't like a Madonna as much as HARD CANDY since BEDTIME STORIES.

Her 00's albums were much more solid than her 90's ones IMO though I also like them. I like Erotica and ROL, Bedtime Stories was hit and miss for me as an album, but the perfect singles were chosen.

The only Madonna album I never bought. Before that I'd buy the latest one to top up the collection to make it complete, but I couldn't bring myself to purchase this rubbish.

It's a great album. Still my 5th favorite of hers. "She's Not Me" and "Beat Goes On" are still hot!

It's one of Madonna's most 'fun' albums. There are no deep messages here...it's just fun, accessible dance/pop aimed at the dancefloor.

"Miles Away","Heartbeat","She's Not Me","Beat Goes On" and "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" are strong, solid tracks.

The only clunkers on this album are "Spanish Lesson" and "Voices".

I think Madonna should work with Pharrell again.

My opinion is simple: there are three or four very average tracks (Incredible, Heartbeat, Dance 2Nite and Voices) and the other tracks are just too "american 00s shit-hop" for me. She should have worked with Timba-Lake/Pharell AND then with Stuart Price again to give the songs a nice euro-dance shine. Why do I say this? just listen tot the S&STour arena/dance remixes, the songs sound much better than the original studio versions...

That said, I just hope she NEVER releases another pure-dance/pop/fun album again, specially at this point of her career...

the highlights are still Miles Away, She's Not Me, and Give It To Me tour version

Beat Goes On is a GREAT crossover song, kind of "Madonna meets 00s Hip-Pop" song, but not a great Madonna song, if that makes any sense...and 4 Minutes still sounds like a Timba-Lake song featuring Madonna, but not the other way around, lol, the title-track was a good show opener, but not much more...
