Disappointing comeback songs/lead singles from your favourite artists

Michael Jackson - YRMW (good song, bad comeback single)

Velvet Revolver - Let It Roll (piss poor lead single from a disappointing second album)

Foo Fighters - Rope (yawn)

Prince - Musicology

The Fugees (Lauryn Hill) - "Take It Easy"

Mariah Carey - "It's Like That" (Mariah's not necessarily one of my favorite artists, but that single was meh!)

Stevie Wonder - "So What The Fuss" (not quite, but it kinda came and went. Solid single I learned to respect though.)

Maxwell - "Get To Know Ya"

Janet Jackson's last three lead singles.

Beyonce's Run The World mess.

Floptina's Not Tonight or whatever the shit was called. Can't even remember.

Usher's Daddy's Home off his latest.

Janet - Call on Me (the worst opening lead single Janet's ever put out in her entire career bar none)

Michael - You Rock My World (song's a classic but Unbreakable would've been better to "come back" to)

I agree with the Fugees' Take It Easy and Stevie's What's the Fuss... ugh, yeah came and went. neutral

Diana's Working Overtime

Tina - Open Arms

Janet Jackson - Call on Me and the whole Damita Jo Album

Michael Jackson - Black or White (Just a super corny song on a otherwise great album)

Prince - The last like three , four, maybe 5 singles and albums

Stevie Wonder - Whats The Fuss? (Best song on a weak album and thats sad)

Lady Gaga - Born This Way (Only could listen to it once)

Christina Aguilera - Not Myself tonight - As a former huge Xtina fan, words can not explain how dissapointed I was by that ish.

Duffy - Well, Well, Well

Everything by Bowie post Scary Monsters

The Killers - Human

Liz Phair - Why Can't I

Radiohead - Lotus Flower

Totally agree on Janet

Let's just acknowledge that Invincible super disappointing comeback as a whole.
Fans waited six years for this. Really, Mike? confused

Always thought it would be better if Michael did not release this album, then he have almost perfect discography: Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, History.
I love all these albums.

Michael Jackson - Black or White (Just a super corny song on a otherwise great album)

Michael released albums so infrequently that every album regarded by people as a comeback. Funny! lol

Yeah that was a sad moment. sad I still can't dig the song. The video's a different story, I think it was nicely done but it had to have that song as its backup. disbelief

Bionic - a very weak album, most of the songs are absolutely primitive. It is best to quickly forget about this moment in the career of Christina.

PS Today I am in a bad mood, never mind. lol

BUT Bionic and Invincible are really bad ... confused

To be honest Invincible wasn't a bad album but it wasn't a great album either. I really liked 2000 watts, Rock My world, and Don't Let Go of My Hand. It just had too many fillers.

Your right Mj put albums out when he wanted them out. It was always a ''comeback''

Ryan Leslie. He's usually pretty good, but I'llgive hima pass, that was at the beginning of his career. One of the frst tracks he worked on.

But New Edition makes me laugh anyway. If there was ever a real life "Five Heartbeats (or Six Heartbeats)" it's them. I swear, every interview they do as a group, Michael Bivins always crying about how they have 20+ year careers and mess....maybe so but not as a group though!!! They've broken up so many damn times its ridiculous. Even now some of them still have egos for no damn reason. rolleyes So when I see them in videos like "Hot Tonight" where they look like they are popcorn kernals jumping around all over the place, I have to spit

"Misery" got boring after three listens.

"Sex Cymbal" got one play and I went "NEXT"

And Prince, let's not get started on that particular song. lol

wow lol we're talking about SINGLES not ALBUMS

do you seriously think that singles like Let's Dance, Modern Love, China Girl, Blue Jean, Loving the Alien, Absolute Beginners, Time Will Crawl, Black Tie White Noise, Hallo Spaceboy, Strangers When We Meet, Dead Man Walking, Slow Burn, New Killer Star, etc were disappointing? lol disbelief hmph!

and Human a bad single? THAT's like their best song!

I do agree with Duffy, Xtina and Radiohead, though...

I really dislike let's dance. I really dislike everything Bowie did after Scary Monsters. Certainly Let's Dance was an attempt to come back to the mainstream (that worked) and every album after that seemed to be an attempt to be a comeback to his glory days.

I think Human is ok. But it doesn't stand next to When You Were Young or Mr. Brightside. IMHO. I did end up liking other songs off of Day & Age though.
