Boy George Thinner in New Video

Yay - looks like Boy George has made a rebound. He appears much skinnier, healthier, and happier in his latest video, "Turn to Dust." Let's hope the momentum can be sustained. Rumor is, he and Culture Club are planning a big reunion in 2012. Go George!

Yeah the boys supposed to reunite next year in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their first album. This year actually marks their 30th anniversary forming the group.

I used to love Culture Club when I was growing up. But I don't hold out much hope for this reunion. George may be talented, but he is such a self centered egomaniac. He has spent so much time bashing the other members of Culture Club and the music they created together. All I ever heard from him was he hated every song they wrote together and the others were lousy musicians and the 80's was all bad.

Why is he all of a sudden embracing Culture Club? It sounds like a desperate attempt for fame and money to me.

He's talented, but he needs to seriously tone down the ego and arrogance. Would it really kill him to acknowledge that there were three other people that played behind him and contributed something meaningful to the songs?

But is whole attitude is because I wear a lot of makeup, fancy hats and throw out bitchy one liners I'm better than everyone else.

Their 20th anniversary concert was horrible with George cussing out the audience and him doing horrible vocals. I don't have high expectations for this reunion. It will probably end in the usual bitching and nastiness.

George mostly likes djing and dance music. I doubt he will put any real effort into this reunion.

It sounds like the personal stuff was sorted out a while ago. I just think 10 years ago, they hadn't really talked to each other and knew where things stood, old demons resurfaced, as did old feelings. Behind the Music had come out. He knows if it doesn't get off the ground this coming year, it never will. He knows he could turn into a complete diva on the tour, they all know it could fall apart.

The why part - 30th anniversary and Mark Ronson's involved. Also to put themselves out there as a good live band.

I think if Mark gets them to tour with new music and there's actually some radio play, they might have more enthusiasm to hit the road. I'm sure it'll be a theater tour just to see what happens.

I was on youtube looking up Marilyn Manson which led to looking at videos of Marilyn the singer which led to Boy George (in a yellow version of this black hat he is wearing in this video)doing an interview about this very topic.

Basically it talks about all these things, him becoming a "nicer" person and realizing what an asshole he use to be. He went through a definite period of growth and so must have the rest of the band because they forgave him. Anyway he loves Lady Gaga because she is bringing back flamboyance. Maybe he can open for her, who knows. I wish him the best; he is 50 like me and that is too early to stop living and think that all your best years are behind you.

The members of other groups like The Eagles and Van Halen also spent a lot of time throwing insults at each other, but they reunited. The reunited Eagles have been together longer than they were originally. Even all 4 members of Pink Floyd reunited for one performance. lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This reunion might work. All of them are about 50-something now. I think George is the last of the members to reach that age too.

People grow up, they get out of the limelight and they see things from a different perspective.

I have never been famous, never lived and traveled with people all over the world day after day took drugs with them, screwed around with them etc. I can only imagine the stress of the lifestyle.

The Stones continue to say less than flattering things about each other but in the end they "aren't too far gone yet to see this is a bizznez", and they have learned to have well oiled backs and let that crazy shit slide right off.

Why are people always so quick to give Boy George the benefit of the doubt and believe he has changed just because he says so? People are so quick to criticize other artists when they act out, but excuses are always made for Boy George. Is it because people are so enamored with the idea of a guy in makeup and a nice hat?

Sorry, but I don't believe people all of sudden change at 50 after years of diva behavior. I think the divaness and bitchiness in just in his nature.

Is Mark Ronson really involved?. George often says things and they never happen. So I would take all these promises with a huge grain of salt.

And anyway. Mark Ronson wasn't able to get Duran Duran back on the radio. Their album was a commercial flop although it got good reviews.

I've followed George and CC for years. I've heard all these good things before but somehow it never works out. I have a feeling it will be more of the same.

The problem is I don't think they have talked out their issues. No one can really talk to George. He is just into himself and never listens.

It's nice you are all optimistic about this, but I'm not. I've seen and heard it all before to only be disappointed by George's promises.

I don't think he sees he has been an asshole. He always thinks it's everyone else who has the problem. I saw a recent interview with him in Singapore and he was back to his usual rude diva self. It's just who he is and will always be.

George doesn't care if CC falls apart or doesn't happen. He always has his djing and he can do the 80's nostalgia circuit without the others. In my experience, he's a me first person who could care less about the other members of CC.
