Anyone see RHCP live? I'm thinking about going to see them when they come to London next month. I saw some footage from the band at Rock In Rio and they sounded pretty good although they seemed fairly stationary, not moving about a whole lot.
Is there a good atmosphere at their shows? Are they worth going to see??

I saw them twice. Once, opening for the Bangles in 86 or so. I thought they were total nuts and was not won over (but then I was seeing the bangles, so what was my taste like?)
I saw them open for the Stones, I was again not that impressed, even though I was a fan at that point.
But I watched the DVD of them in Ireland from a few years back and I thought it was great. So who knows? My Legacy

I saw them back in 1995 and since it's still pretty much the same band I don't think a lot has changed. I'm sure they still jump around and so does the audience. Especially the front rows are pretty wild. They play mostly new songs, the first few albums are completely ignored. Anthony Keidis is a good frontman, interaction betweenbthe band members is fun, so to sum it all up, yeah! Go!

I heard there shows are fantastic!, and i have seen tons of live video as well. I would say YES YES Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Saw them with Fishbone back in the 80's and saw them 2 months ago in Hong Kong. One of the best bands ever. Treat yourself, you wont be disappointed.

I saw RHCP with Fishbone in the 90s! I've also seen them when "Mother's Milk" was out (their last club tour ever, as far as I know), at Lollapalooza, on the "Californication tour w/ Foo Fighters and some then-unknown band called Muse, and on the Stadium Arcadium tour w/Gnarls Barkley.
They put on a good show w/ lots of energy (especially Flea and Anthony).
