Yes he does, That's his problem. There is tons of good music being made today, you just have to look for it. Prince does need to hear other music to inspire him to try some new things. I just think that Prince needs to get out of his own world, get the "yes men" outta there, & re-discovered himself...
While it might be good for him to have less "yes men" in his camp, there's every indication that he does listen to LOTS of new music. He always has.
His problem isn't making good music. He still does that. It's what Bono said about him, he doesn't have a filter to keep back the bad ideas.
Bono's dead on if he said that. Prince needs people to tell him when shit is bad. He thinks eveything he puts out is gold and we (the fans) know thats not true |

The musical comparison between Van Hunt and Prince are unfounded and
slightly ridiculous:
What we have here are two black dudes who are multi-instrumentalists,
playing quirky and distinct music that rejects genre categorization.
The end. |

The funny thing is, the only new song I really like (love, actually) is the non-album track, "The Savage Sincere Lof P"....

I thought the non album tracks would have made an even better record if they had been included, seems like the kind of thing that got left behind to make it more challenging, I guess.

Damn this albums is good. But why is it so got damn hard to get a legally downloaded copy in Norway? I tried i tunes, no luck, spotify no luck, had to order the physical cd through the internet, since our biggest record store in Norway doesn't have this album, and it hasn't got any reviews over here either. Damn the music industry sucks humongous balls. I must really say I hate how the industry works. Only good thing about it is that some musicians use their frustration to make maybe even better music. |
