Shoo-ins right?

Yeah!

I don't know or understand WHY the Faces/Small Faces haven't been inducted yet. Blame the committee for being real slow.

They need more females up in there. Hope Heart gets it, also Rufus/Chaka.

Donna Summer has been snubbed several times, she's like the Susan Lucci of this shit.

Any year Donna's nominated, I'm always going "THIS IS IT!" lol I'm not about to say "oh she's gonna be in it now" because the last time I said that, she didn't get in. lol

Well its about 10 years late, but thank U for giving HEART a shot, i love the idea of Joan Jett getting in, props to WOMEN this year, get Donna in too finally, as for GNR i think they get in because of the enigma, the delays, the headlines, the lifestyle, the BS, and then for 2 great albums and 2 bloated albums, and some other thing. Dont Hold your breath on a reunion though, knowing AXL it will be billed as a reunion and the dick will pull out and no one will be there to accept the honor, if it was up to me, they wouldnt get in, not while bands like Chicago, Hall and Oates and others arent in yet, and honestly, Bon Jovi would be in long before GnR, Guns would be in the Overrated Hall of Fame with Lauryn Hill. As for the Cure, honestly i respect them, but i cant take them at all, i mean, if you going to put the cure toss The Smiths in there too.

We are however getting VERY close to the year the Jayhawks are eligible, who to me, HAVE To get in, they have had more acclaim than any band i know without selling out or even having a hit, they are deserving, plus they represent a Minneapolis Sound that was an alternative to Prince.

Geez! It's called "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame"... so yes, GNR should get in before all the bands you mentioned! And it's 3 great albums!

Actually, its 1 great album with two "good" to bloated albums...I don't think Guns will get in there first time around...And there are some folks who would say they shouldn't get in at all because of their lack of a truly great catalogue beyond Appetite....

Hell folks are complaining right now about Guns being nominated at all. Like "what? That overrated piece of trash Axl Rose gets a nomination but not KISS?! Fuck that! mad " lol

If or when Guns-N-Roses are voted in the American Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame before KISS is (finally) voted in, it will definitely comfirm to a lot of people that the Hall Of Fame is a f***ing joke.

That is all.

Man, people are dumping on Use Your Illusion pretty hard but those albums were far from flops. They were massive! I have no idea what they sold but I'm guessing combined the worldwide sales must be over twenty million.

I think some folks think musically it wasn't as up to par as Appetite regardless of how much it sold.

Yes they were! They also showed that the band can be a bit more diverse. And try around 30 to 35 mio and you're there.

I just can not fathom how you can have a rock and roll hall of fame without Kiss. It just proves how snobby the committee is. Kiss were arguably the biggest American rock band of the '70s, if the Eagles and Aerosmith are in then Kiss damn well should be too.

Ah, some people are just pissed that they dared to stray from the sleaze rock of the first album and broadened their spectrum.

I can believe it because Guns dared to be ambitious that people thought that they were "losing their soul". That's why people are so hard on those who evolve, or at least try to.

I don't think anyone could call those album flops sales wise...The issue is Guns made the greatest hard rock album of the '80s, but never were able to make good on their promise as being the next GREAT hard rock band...Those illusion albums are not in the same weight class as Appetite....When Axl wasn't ruling over Slash and them like Stalin, they were as great as advertised...Unfortunately, that only lasted two albums (GNR Lies is pretty underrated)....

That's why folks are balking at them being nominated so fast...And all this losing their soul business?...The truth is those Illusion albums were good....But not great....

That's the issue....

Yeah, and if they don't people rage on them for doing the same thing over and over again. As an artist you can't really win!

They were until '93. From '91 to '93 they were the biggest band in the world.

Chaka's induction is WAY overdue! She opened up so many doors that she's not given credit for. She made it okay for a woman singer to act like a woman.

Nah....To me their greatness was all in the '80s....I think the Lies album is severely underrated...To me they showed they could evolve with a song like "Patience" and still come off like Guns n Roses....

But after that? They coasted on their rep and the legacy and impact of Appetite...

If sales are what counts, then Kenny G should be nominated. razz I think he sold more than some of the acts that are in already.

Guns n Roses DESERVE to be in. Appetite is one of the greatest rock albums ever and the impact of the band itself cannot be understated. Slash's iconic look and Axl's snake dance defined that band. For a time, along with NWA, Guns were the most dangerous acts in music.

For GNR, Appetite For Destruction was their Purple Rain.

Use Your Illusion 1&2 was their Sign 'O' The Time.

Prince get in the HOF ahead of KISS is one thing.

But Val Halen, Madonna, & ABBA ahead of KISS?!!!? That is total bullshit even till this day.
