Patrick Hernandez was riding high in 1979 with "Born To Be Alive".Around that time,he was dating an unknown singer who became a superstar just a few years later lol

A few that I like.

Blues Image...

...Ride Captain Ride

Although not a "hit", Pay My Dues was played a lot on FM.

Pacific Gas & Electric...

...Are You Ready?

The Beginning of the End...

...Funky Nassau - Part 1

Argent...

...Hold Your Head Up

Focus...

...Hocus Pocus

Manu Dibango...

...Soul Makossa

Thin Lizzy...

...The Boys Are Back In Town

Jimmy "Bo" Horne...

...Dance Across The Floor

Roger Voudouris...

...Get Used To It

Some of these are questionable but what the hey.
And although some of these artist had only one "Pop" hit, they had successful album careers.

You're so right about Jimmy, but he did have another hit with "Spank."

I can't remember the name of the artist but whomever that woman was that sang the Knock On Wood song. Its a disco song I believe. Anyway its hot, love her voice, she looks sexy and I'm not sure what else she ever sang. boogie shrug

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

What defines a "hit"? What chart is used for that criteria?
If every chart category is considered, many of these artists are not "One-Hit Wonders".
That's why I qualified my picks by saying some were questionable.

Fun diversion nonetheless. cool

Not exactly a "one-hit wonder" in the pop-sense, but this band only made one studio album, even though many consider it a "classic" and an influence to other bands

The Knack: My Sharona was my son's favourite when he was two years old. Everytime he heard that song, he immediately took his ride on car and speeded it as fast as he could biggrin The story behind that song is actually disgusting, but that's how the life goes in music business. shrug
