Rihanna To Release New Album This Fall

  • Written by Trent | Filed under Rihanna

Rihanna surprised her fans earlier this month when she revealed that she started working on her sixth studio album but now, just days after her ‘Cheers (Drink To That)’ single entered the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, she has announced that the record will be released this year. In fact, the album will hit stores in the fall.

Rihanna will act as a guest mentor on the upcoming season of ‘The X Factor (US)’ and will undoubtedly use the show to cross promote her new LP. Her close friend Katy Perry, on the other hand, has chosen release another single from her ‘Teenage Dream’ album instead of progressing to a new project.

    —————————————————–

This is truly a classic case of a Pop act who is keen to capitalise on the momentum of her previous releases in an overzealous attempt to continue her popularity. Whether it is because Rihanna is desperate to keep her fickly fanbase interested by providing them with a continuous flow of material or because she understands that her success stems solely from her physical beauty, which will fade with age, has yet to be determined. Yet, this move will do nothing to solve either issue.

Rihanna needs more time to experience life and sit with a vocal coach so that she could discover the artistic depth that is glaringly missing from her catalogue. Indeed, as she advances through her career her audience will change and she will need to grow as well so that she could attract a more mature crowd.

Clearly, Rihanna’s handlers have no intention of encouraging her to discover her real potential and develop into a true artist. Rather, they are simply seeking to make the biggest impact that they can now and dispose of her by the age of 30 after she has sold 100 million ringtones. After all, empty barrels are easiest to move.

    Thoughts?

Why is everyone trying to be like Prince all of a sudden? These people today aren't interesting enough to release albums annually.

I didn't think of Prince at all, I thought of cash cows. There are times when his facial expression is reminiscent of a cow, but that is all.

Given the crappy quality of her so-called music, I reckon it takes only about 38 minutes for her to make a new album..big deal

Basically. lol It's just her sorting through "songs" sent to her, she and her handlers decide what sounds like a hit, she lays her god awful vocals down, they edit and auto-tune the hell out of those vocals while she goes to the beach in Barbados for the zillionth time, and voila, a hit record with the lifespan of about 3-6 months.

I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

The fact that she churns them out so quickly is a reminder of how mindless and uninspired she is. It seems like she has no stage presence, no class and doesn't have a creative bone in her body---quite representative of the entitlement generation I guess...

Althought it appears fast, but we have to remember back in the 70s and 80s people released albums every year, sometimes 6 months apart. I really don't know when the music industry got to a point where artists released music every 2 and 3 years. Back in the day- it was only people like MJ or Janet who would take years off.

I was just thinking this about Donna Summer back in the day. Now, it takes her years. LOL.

She don't have to write it her self, so of course a new album is finished like in 1 week.
