Little Susie kicks ass.

Smile is a little cheesy, but I still like it as well.

Stranger in Moscow is beyond the best though out of the History ballads...

I THINK HIStory is MJs best album, most of it was written and produced by MJ, how can u say it is uninspired, its the angriest pop record ever, full of emotion and controversy at the same time, listen 2 DS again!

1 Scream w Janet - ok this song wasnt the best comeback but i love the sly bass line Thankufalletinmebmicelfagain!
2 TDCAU - great bass great lyrics
3 Stranger in Moscow - Masterpiece
4 This time around - first average song
5 Earth Song - pure anger, pure genius
6 DS - Weak lyrics, strong hidden message about Thomas Sneddon
7 Money - Great track, a grower
8 Come Together - BEatles cover, probably the best beatles cover there is
9 YANA - his best love song
10 Childhood - masterpiece
11 Tabloid Junkie - Great message, lyrics, funky uptempo track
12 2bad - wyclef remix was great
13 history - masterpiece
14 little susie - amazing, really sad but beautiful
15 smile - great album closer 4 an angry record nb SCream/SMile

Childhood, Little Suzie and Smile are insipid garbage to me. The whole "angry MJ" thing on DS, Money, Tabloid Junkie (and recently Privacy) has become a tired cliche IMO.

yeah what a dick, defending himself from insipid crap that ppl say about him everyday

MY BIGGEST GRIPE WITH INVINCIBLE IS...

That Michael outsourced most of the writing and a good amount of production. Disappointingly, 'The Lost Children' is the only track written and produced by MJ himself and it leaves a lot to be desired.

HIStory is a strong record because it demonstrates a higher degree of lyrical maturity than his previous and indeed, current work. Coincidentally, it was the first record in his decades long career to contain tracks written and produced solely by MJ.

As FunkyBrotha, et al. have pointed out MJ's greatest songs are his own compositions so he shouldn't find it necessary to hire über-producers who'll aim to "bring his music up-to-date". IMO, he needs to pick up a pad, a pen, and start writing again. There's only so much the likes of Rodney Jerkins, R. Kelly, and Babyface shake can do for him.

Speechless was also written and produced by MJ. Who Is It, Will You Be There and Heal The World on Dangerous were also written and produced by him (plus Morphine on BOTDF), and of course he's no stranger to writing tracks solely by himself, but often shares the producing credit.

I agree with June7, Money is my FAVE tune from the History LP. I remember playing that song like crazy once I bought the LP, it has a funky yet anairy feel to it with a powerful message that everybody could relate to.

I wish MJ would write and produce a new CD by himself. He has the talent to do this, but in recent years,he seems content to bring in a bunch of "hot" producers and songwriters.I would rather hear a deeply personal, introspective album by him,EVEN if it is not a big commercial success.

HIStory is my favorite album from Michael Jackson. Meaning, I like more songs from this album than his other albums. The best songs are: Scream, TDRCAU, Stranger in Moscow, Earth Song, Money, Little Susie, and Smile. Good stuff. Everything else is pretty lame.

An introspective solo produced MJ album would be full of corny ass "I love children" and "The media hate me" songs. I think he needs another opinion on the whole to keep on track with reality.

Yeah, he is so hung up on selling records that he doesn't see the opportunity for artistry. He could easily do what Prince has done and scale down, focus on what exactly he wants to do artistically (which would certainly be more lyrical/poetic and dance/performance-focused than what Prince does), and try to make a happy and fullfilling artistic existence for himself in the midst of the circus that his life has become.

He seems completely blind to any such possibility. It's a shame.

I've heard some More MJ Vault Stuff&I wouldn't be so quick to say that.He got some knock out stuff.the Media stuff is Hit&Miss but when it Hits it truly Hits like "Leave Me Alone","Stranger in Moscow",He has some stuff that would surprise some folks up in His Vaults.

All five singles from HIStory were great to me yeah. The rest was overall very uninspired though IMO.

Those songs deserved a better showcase. I know that sounds crazy but a lot of the new songs from "History" were just to odd and I don't think very good by any standards. I've heard people praise the new "Blood On the Dancefloor" tracks. Had Jackson combined those with the better "History" songs, could his "History" have been changed?

I also felt alot of the Material was Odd as well.it needed a better Balance&that's where Having Consistancy as to A "All you Can Eat" Vibe with that Album would have balanced it out IMHO.

I don't think there was much quality to mine into on Blood On The Dancefloor either, it's best seen as a remix album for the clubs and DJs IMO.

History I'd take the five singles, the title track (for concept) and as others have said "Money" was a decent uptempo number I suppose. So a neat seven track EP. wink
