I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT! RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer.

Easy: Erykah but that heffa crazy too
They both some baby making machines on the real.
I love Lauryn's voice and her lyrics but Eryka have that soulful beat reminiscent of old school soul. Eryka got prophetess written all over her.

They are both extremely talented and prophets EVEN with lauryns ONE album she is still a prophet of course Erykah is to.
Lauryn is a great live singer.. however Erykah is more entertaining live.
I saw Lauryn a few months ago and she SUCKED. MOST of the reviews on this last tour have been negative. And her voice is DONE. I'll take Erykah over her every time.

Yeah the crazy but still knows how to keep her career going. Besides HER quirkiness I can deal with. She's a hustler baby.
Fa sho! And she's VERY down to Earth in person. Love her! I went to her bday party a few years ago and she was too fucking cool.

She is! and she is mad funny
Oh okay! If we compare when they first came out, then yeah gimme L-Boogie. But the decline has been so disappointing.
Erykah is still very entertaining. She's sooo funny. I saw her a couple years ago and she had on these bad Gucci shoes and was trying some modern dance move and almost fell. She was like, "That's what my ass get for trynna be cute. I knew I shouldn't have bought these damn shoes at Neiman's yesterday. I'ma fuck around and need a ride to Presby (county hospital in Dallas) fucking with these Guccis."
Here's a clip from her bday appearance at Prophet bar.

Please explain....
From the moment she came on the scene she was headlining the neo-soul genre of music and as a woman that made her stand out. She's a bit of a soothsayer in her lyrics. She puts a different spin on the relationship aspect we've seen played out in songs from various female artists with lyrics we've all heard before. Her lyrics delve a little deeper and her presentation is more soulful. She's inspiring and imo is like a teacher/counselor/mother figure in her music. She is by no means cookie cutter. She is a trendsetter and from my perspectives, prophets be they male or female are also trendsetters and they lay foundation for what is to come. Badu makes these other female artists have to work a little bit harder. Billie Holiday had the gift and the word. Badu has a bit of Billie in her.

Her power came from some great reservoir of soul spiritual life else
it could not have been so poetic and so potent,
but the majesty and beauty of the language with which she clothed, breathed and singed gave birth to a gentle breeze call neo that roze the elite kingdom of neo soul to common man's land
Really feel these lyrics right here...song never gets old for me.
Didn't cha know, didn't cha know Tried to run but I lost my way Didn't cha know, didn't cha know Stopped to watch my emotions sway Didn't cha know, didn't cha know Knew the toll but I would not pay Didn't cha know, didn't cha know I said ya never know how the cards may lay
This song makes my ache.

Lauryn kills it on ex-factor tho. That's a song for the ages.
