Digging the CD. There is a Marvin Gaye type song on there that is great.

Haha yeah I'm on youtube now and clicked on the "Liquid Jesus" song that sounds like a total Marvin Gaye track. I'd love to hear Maxwell sing this song too smile

Lenny's first cd was a revelation. A black artist who was clearly influenced by flower power. And that was exactly the time I was getting into Sly & the Family Stone (Woodstock 20 years anniversary) so it all seemed to make sense.
But by his second album he was already starting to repeat himself and by the time Are You Gonna Go My Way came out, it was getting boring. Circus was better and his live shows were good, but I stopped caring about Lenny years ago.
Seriously, guys! His first record was called Let Love Rule and 20 years later he came with Love Love Love and Love Revolution. bored

Better than worthless hacks like Jay-z who can't stop repeating their own names on every album.

hey Bobby---thanks for your honest comments. I know that I am probably ridiculously blinded by his oozing sex appeal and the fact that I've been a fan of his since I was in middle school. I tend to be a loyal fan and then ignore all others, I'm pretty loyal to Lenny but I think you make good points. He's not into risk-taking like Prince but I think it's because he's found a certain niche audience and him being a black rocker is so rare and unique that I think he doesn't want to risk alienating his casual fans. I think perhaps the reason that this album release was delayed because perhaps he was trying to break out of that sound but record execs might have thought otherwise...

I was really disappointed that Lenny left that awful track on the album. It's a good rock/funk album. But then, just when you really get into it, there's this hideous turd of an island dance thing with Jay-z grunting.

Yep totally, the Drake song song isn't too bad but that JayZ shite is the most aweful thing Lenny has put his name to.

Have you heard Arthur Lee and Love? They were right in the thick of flower power. wink

I like the cd production overall. It;'s a good party album too- you can play "what song from back in the day is this ripped off of..."lol. I know EVERYONE does it to some extent...but wow. Maybe it's just cause he's taking from the music I grew up with. When he did it with rock and roll I was out of my knowledge base.

Lenny is TOO Fine indeed.

Does anyone know where I can get the Vinyl version of this album? I googled it but it comes up with these eBay sort of sites and I'm not too trusting.

Just went to his offical page and that behind the scene of the "Stand" video is TOO funny!

I so wish Prince would have done the same with a website but I know it will never happen. It sooooooo sucks much ass as a Prince fan. I was browsing the site and was like wow concert footage, talking to fans, photos(sexy ones at that), you know the typical fan stuff that you want to see. (If you ladies are insterested there is a photo of Lenny in a claw foot tub in red lighting razz )

Please post the pic of Lenny in the tub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as the vinyl goes, I'm guessing you gotta get it from some random Eastern European country because it seems like that's where his whole freaking "world tour" is going to be...

I think we like Prince because he's distant, aloof and mysterious. I really think that's what keeps people interested in him because he's the most famous celebrity who's rarely seen or heard of, LOL
