Badu by far. I just don't like Lauryn Hill's vibe and I really think of her as a nostalgia act...

Badu's live album gets regular play with me. And there are some goodies on all of her albums. Bag Lady and Back In the Day never get old for me.

I'm not talking about most of these, I'm talking about this one.

HotGritz is serious, most of these vs threads on the other hand are from orgers who would like to keep up with the "vs" joke thats running rampant.

Looking at Lauryn's career though, man she still has so much potential but hasn't yet unleash it yet. neutral

falloff Hater?? How does stating that the crazy heffa got a bunch of babies and that coulda contributed to the demise of her career make somebody a hater? Like it or not she is known equally if not moreso for her extreme nuttiness and family drama as she is for her ONE album.

Oh yes it does. Because when she made that choice to put having children over music, the latter suffered. As talented as Lauryn is, and as bad as she seemed to want it, I don't think she was ready for all the demands of showbusiness. Here fans are the one's who have suffered, because if it.

Exactly no it doesnt.... The thread question ask who is better based on criteria that pertains to MUSIC. Now if YOU CHOOSE to based that on her PERSONAL LIFE than that is you. All I can say is.. that is very sad because this thread is not about her personal dealings.

I agree. nod I was using "OR" for a while until a few orgers started going "VS." crazy.

we should decide this in a new thread called: "VS." vs. "OR" nod

or is it "VS." or "OR" ? hmmm

Based on my analysis, I believe the government faked the plane crash and demolished the WTC North Tower with explosives.
The South Tower, in a simultaneous but unrelated plot was brought down by actual terrorists.

nod And it wasn't just having the children because lots of women balance kids and career, it was the EXTRANESS and drama of it all that affected Lauryn psychologically which impacted her talent and ability to produce more music IMO.

Like I said, even tho EB got her own messy family craziness she's still managed to produce more music and tour successfully EVERY year preggers or not. So there's obviously something EXTRA going on with Lauryn.

...and I am not letting Eryka off the hook, either. As talented as Badu is, she tries TOO hard to be "extra" i.e. to prove a point. For her, just let the song speak for itself. For me, no need to create controversy with you running around, naked in a video, if the song is as good as it is supposed to be. I think the video age has made people lazy, for they rely too much on it to create the visual, that the words are supposed to create.

lol Okay, I'll give you that ONE cuz I was not a fan of that stunt. Maybe she thought it was her only way to compete in this age of fabricated "controversies." Then she follows it up by having a baby by the officer who arrested her. From that respect, EB can be nutsy cuckoo, but she's still somewhat doing her thing musically and touring-wise.

What the heck? (Please, nooooooo!) Google better let me know. (This cop must really have some flavor, right?) I didn't have a problem with the nakedness, cuz she put it out there without reservation, and in a way that was not sexual in nature, but rather political and artistic and brave - just my feeling. (What top woman singer is really going to be brave enough to actually get naked and vulnerable and walk around in the public streets? Truth be told that is some brave shit.) It seemed tacky and planned when Kelly Rowland's recent nudity went down, and I think that this type of motivation is what people are projecting onto Badu; I feel this to be innacurate. (But man, I think that Kelly has an incredibly beautiful body, said the queer man.)
