Years ago, I'd have been beside myself.

Now, I say, good for both of them.

Stevie, being an artist, and perhaps rock's greatest artist, has enormous license to do whatever he wants. And if he truly believes there's artistic merit to it, I won't question him. And if he wants to make money, I say goheadon. In any event, if he can raise Drake's level, the audience benefits.

As for Drake, the benefit to him is self-evident but again, if it turns out well, the audience will win.

And if the finished product is garbage, we'll always have Talking Book, which by itself atones for any number of musical sins.

(on Arsenio) and then when he was at the Billboard Awards with Coolio to do their versions of "Gangsta's Paradise" and "Pasttime's Paradise" that it was cool but now it seems like, I don't know, desperate lol someone remind this fool who the fuck he is. falloff

Stevie's already MAD rich namepeace. In fact, he don't need no more money. He makes a lot of money from all the songs and albums he wrote and produced from 1965 onwards. lol So it ain't like he did it for the money. He does it to be hip. BUT he's already hip. Ya dig? wink If no one in this generation knows about Stevie Wonder, they need to do more homework. lol

In this day of age where the average attention span of this current younger generation is about a size of a "soundbite", those brats think The Backstreet Boys are old-school! So how the hell are they going to motivate themselves to know anything about Stevie Wonder?!?

Yep. There's footage of him showing up at the 1995 Billboard Awards (when he was rocking the long braids) showing up. LV sang parts of "Pasttime's Paradise" when Stevie showed up in the middle of Coolio's performance. Coolio was just nodding away and wilding out when Stevie showed up. Stevie then got a microphone and finished out the verse before he and LV switched up. LV sung the chorus to "Pasttime" and Stevie sang "Gangsta". It was quite bizarre actually.

Like I said, Timmy, if money were his reason, I couldn't complain. He wouldn't be the first rich person to try to make more money, right?

I love it when teenagers write "music today sucks" and "music was so much better before" like everybody else on youtube. Then they conclude their comment by stating that music was so much better sometime around 2003 or so.

Actually I don't like that at all. That's why I use an application that doesn't even let me see those damn comments on youtube.

lol Yeah some people brag about being 11 and liking a Motown song but not knowing the history of that particular artist's catalog. One old song you like don't make you different lmao

Didn't say it was . . . I said I could deal with it because he's Stevie.

Heck, all the Stevie records and CDs I scratched up I should get a stock split from Steveland! lol

I suppose.

It's still funny to me when they write those "music of today sucks" and the "old music was better" type of comments and the "old music" they are referring to is something like Daft Punk or Slipknot.

But once they reach majority age . . . fair game! jedi

Reminds me of the time that I visited my grandparents as a college-age kid. I brought my CDs with me and my grandfather asked about what I was listening to, and I told him I was loving the "old school" stuff from the 70's. He took me to his music room, put on some Charlie Parker, told some Bird stories, and the rest was history.

I was (kind of) that kid years ago, but I learned. Some of them will too.

Each one, teach one . . .

LMAO @ Stevie performing with Jonas.... that was a last minute switcheroo due to Rihanna backing out of the Grammys due to getting her ass kicked by Chris Brown. The Grammys asked Stevie to step in and that performance was the outcome. Know the facts before you talk out your neck wink

Drake is an emotional rapper so I can see Stevie seeing potential in the lad. We'll see what it sounds like but Stevie's last foray into hip hop with Busta Rhymes was audio FIYAH so I'm not concerned. lol lol
