Will black bands ever come back?

Is it me or does it seem like black bands (NOT GROUPS using drumbeats) died back in the 90s. Before that, it seemed like black bands were really popular. Will black bands ever make a comeback (using instruments) or has hip-hop destroyed it all? I'm not against music changing its sound and in fact I enjoy the sound changes when real effort is made to make the music in the first place.

I guess I'm sick of hearing watered down hip-hop with the same tired themes and whatnot, it's boring already!

Thoughts?

Yet another gripe thread. lol They don't need to "comeback" because they never went anywhere. Lots of threads have been started, but no one looks at them, so no one here is interested.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I guess what throws me off is that radio/music is so fragmented now so you really do have to dig around and find stuff. I guess the same tired artists are shoved down our throats, in terms of pop music being labeled as R&B and being played on the same radio stations that I remember back in the day really did play real R&B/Soul music...

Until they are back on the radio where they belong and the bullshit is off the radio, you have reason to bitch so continue to bitch and encourage others to bitch also. It's ridiculous to have to "search" for them.

Also Mo'Nique's houseband with Big Jim Wright, who worked a lot with Jam & Lewis

and George Lopez' Late Night band with Tease-guitarist Thomas "Tommie" Organ who toured with Janet & Michael + many more

both those bands are some serious business

Mint Condition and Slapback still doing their thang

And a lot of classic funk bands still performing. Some even reunited, such as Breakwater and Chocolate Milk

lol that's why I'm glad that I grew up in the 70s.That was a musically rich era where you didn't have to search for good music. All you had to do was turn on the radio.

We're not the ones that are happy with music that sounds like it was made by the grandchildren of Lawrence Welk. lol

It's bad enough that I have to search to find dicks that still have hair on them and I be damned if I'm gonna search for good music too. There's only so many hours in the day. lol
