I would take Dangerous and OTW over a few of Prince's albums. Other than those 2, I'd take just about all of P's albums (with the exception of 20Ten and New Power Soul).

There is NOT ONE BAD TRACK on Dangerous. I can understand not liking it, but that album is perfection from start to finish.

You must remember that it came out toward the end of the New Jack Swing era. That is probably why it is so percussion heavy. The 2nd half of the album is more traditional MJ vs. the first half.

As for D&P, I don't think it's a weak album, but it does have a couple of weak trax. "Push" and "Jughead" are the 2 duds on there for me. The rest of the album is really good.

The perfect part about Dangerous is how fresh it sounds. It still isn't dated. cool D&P on the other hand...

Dangerous not dated? It has that typical late 80s/90s percussive drum, stab sampling, weird samples vibe all over it.

True Dangerous doesnt have real bad tracks on it, well B&W is a stupid song i think, but it also doesnt have a lot of real stand out tracks (only RTT). On the other hand tracks like D&P, Money Dont Matter, Cream could be released now(which a also think are stand outs). BTW the none NJS part of Dangerous also.

And Gett Off kils all the uptempo NJS tracks on dangerous except for Remember the time maybe.

even not OTW and Thriller??

ill even take history, dangerous and bad over all Prince's latest albums. well maybe not all, but a lot.

But in the end i think Prince has far more better tracks then MJ has. I think only Stevie can compete with Prince as far as having better music overall.

Geez! How many albums did Prince release?? 30?? No wonder that in sum there might be more better songs of Prince! But Michael on the other hand hasn't released as many crap and soso songs as Prince has! The ratio on good vs bad songs is much higher on Michael's albums! Per album there are only 1 to 3 songs, that are not as good, whereas on Prince's albums there are 3 to 4 good ones per album and the rest is filler and crap.

Wow... The truth is that a lot of Prince's work is DATED. D&P sounds like it from the 90s. It may not be NJS, but to sit up and here act like it still as fresh as ever and not as stale as all hell is some straight up denial. Who is even releasing music like that anymore unless they are trying to sound retro? I do agree that a good portion of Dangerous is dated, but dated =/ bad. It just sounds old.

I think if Prince took a shit on a CD and handed it to you, you would still love it, simply because it's shit that came straight out of Prince's ass. Those purple colored glasses makes it hard to see it for what it is: A steaming pile of shit on a CD.

That's implying that those songs, on that album, sound current. I disagreed, because the entire album sounds old.

thats also a funky picture. but i said that not the whole of DP and also the whole of Dangerous sounded dated. But some guy said Dangerous sounded so fresh and all. so its all nice that u just take one sentence out of my comment. but just be honest with my responses. dont be all stan on me, cuz im a MJ fan also.

I'd have to go with Dangerous in a landslide. Diamonds and Pearls has some great tracks (and some really dreadful ones), but Dangerous is a great album.

Dangerous is the winner for me as well. Diamonds & Pearls was a solid album and had alot of Prince's important singles, but Dangerous was just a whole 'nother animal. May I also say it was funkier than P's too??? boxed

Dangerous. Pretty much adore everything on there.

Love D&P too, but Dangerous edges it.

Here's the thing though. It took Michael 4 years after "Bad" to make something else as good.

If you combined the best of D&P with the best of EITHER album from even just the years before and after (that's Graffiti Bridge and Love Symbol) - then Prince would win.

As much as I love Prince releasing music so often, there's a few times where I wish he would have taken a year out and then an album could have comprised of the best parts of what we got in two albums.

I mean, can you imagine if stuff like "Gett Off" and "Cream" appeared on the same album as "Sexy MF", "My Name Is Prince" and "The Max". It would be a pure funk overload!

To go more extreme, if you compare the music released in the same timespan ('87-'91), it's worlds apart. Michael gave us two excellent discs in that time.... Prince gave us Sign O The Times, Lovesexy, The Black Album, Batman, Graffiti Bridge, D&P......

This is true, and die hard Prince fans act like this man can do no wrong. Fact is, Prince has done a lot of wrong. I can't bring myself to pretend that I like all of Prince's stuff to prove that I am true fan. I can be an honest person and true fan by having my own mind and not take all the crap that Prince has dished out. I actually like Dangerous a lot, and yes, some songs are like, "Okay...wtf?" but there are some solid jams on there while D&P jumps all over the place. Prince did not take time with some of his music, which is why he produced so many duds.
