Although Dangerous has a special place in my heart, I have a newfound appreciation for D&P - it's not as crappy as I once thought.
Hmmm... I still have to go with Dangerous though.

Hold the fuck up. If you people want to compare something, compare 1999 to Thriller. Or Sign O' The Times to Bad.
People are making "vs" threads about two that had no impact.

I know that you are young, but sometimes...people like albums that that are not on everyone's top 100 list and want to discuss them. That is ok too.

The songs are more diverse on Dangerous and each song is different. I find some of the songs on D&P to sound much the same.
Ahh...much closer to reality. |

You have a point. But the other choices are a better choice. |

Not really... It's nice to talk about albums that are not talked about to death. |

i think theyre both quit weak albums.
gett off, strollin, willing and able, DP, insatiable, cream are great tracks
on dangerous i like remember the time and who is it. the other tracks are okay if i would hear them on the radio, but will never play them myself. the new jack swing part i dont really feel except for remember the time. the production seemed to full and 2 percussive and too much funny sounding. and the other typical later MJ songs i never really felt, the ballads and earth heal the world type of songs.
so i guess i have to go with DP

There is NOT ONE BAD TRACK on Dangerous. I can understand not liking it, but that album is perfection from start to finish.
You must remember that it came out toward the end of the New Jack Swing era. That is probably why it is so percussion heavy. The 2nd half of the album is more traditional MJ vs. the first half.
As for D&P, I don't think it's a weak album, but it does have a couple of weak trax. "Push" and "Jughead" are the 2 duds on there for me. The rest of the album is really good. |

The perfect part about Dangerous is how fresh it sounds. It still isn't dated. D&P on the other hand... |

Hmm. I think Dangerous is likely a better album, but I personally prefer Prince's sound to anything on there. To me, it doesn't much matter that D&P has like 4 throwaways on it. I love the songs I love on D&P way more than the songs I love on Dangerous even if Dangerous has more songs TO love. Does that make sense?
I would never, ever choose to listen to any song on Dangerous before I would listen to "Cream", "Willing & Able", "Daddy Pop", "Strollin", "Thunder", or "Gett Off"... [Edited 8/11/11 13:45pm] |

Off The Wall all the way. Michael outfunked Prince hard that year. Prince was still finding himself. |

Prince for me. "Sexy Dancer" and "Bambi" is better than MOST stuff on Off The Wall. |

I know this is prince.org, but are you fucking kidding me? There is no way that anyone can think that D+P is the better album (and I say that as some one who ones both.... mainly bought it for Gett off and Money don't matter). I listened to it today for the first time in a long time and it's not a good album... it has aged badly. There is no contest at all, really! It's "Dangerous" all the way.

Bambi is one of my all time favorite Prince songs! I love OTW (my favorite MJ album) but Bambi, alone, slays it! That is one brilliant piece, from beginning to end.
