Shit, Beyonce certainly ain't winning no acting prize nowhere notime. And I don't know squat about Solange other than what I've seen/heard in interviews. I dunno, I guess I always got the Rachel Marron's lil sister vibe from her. Like she's been waiting in the wings for her shot. lol

She'd really need to work on her diction to play Diana. And ummm, Bey ain't been too successful with that so I dunno. hmmm

[Edited 8/4/11 14:15pm]

lol This definately wasn't her finest moment in an interview for sure.....someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. Yea I get that she's irritated in being in her sister's shadow and sometimes she let's the public see that...but I feel she deserves more shine than she gets. I dig her stuff.

In other interviews I've seen of her where she isn't being a bitch...she comes across as a fun girl full of personality while Bey seems so rehearsed all the time..like she's afraid to show us the real her.

But umm yea the diction gotsa be worked on...I don't consider LisaRaye a serious actress but everytime I hear her speak...It's like freaking nails on a chalkboard, same with Beyonce.

lol You already know what I think of Diamond's (non) acting skills and speaking voice shake

I know people are disappointed that Faith didn't do it but can Faith Evans even act? I know what Journee can do but I have never seen Faith act in a movie before.

Nope.

As much as I love Miss Faye, any replacement is an improvement. She did act in Beyonce's "Fighting Temptations" as Cuba Gooding Jr.'s mom, and like Bey and Mary J, they need to clear the hell away from acting.

I like that they've chosen an ACTRESS to play the lead role (if this info is, in fact, true). Jurnee Smollett has already proven herself (since she ws a kid) and this is a great choice. To me, it's a bad idea to choose someone to play a role based on their looks rather than their skills.

Jurnee Smollett, imo can pull it off. she has the power of osmos-ing (if you will) into her characters. if the lady gains weight i do think she can make me a more of a believer in her great acting abilities.

biggrin awesome post, a catalyst to future conversations imw.

Yeah, I don't think they're really casting this right, either.

I think they should get Faith to do the role and get someone like Kerry Washington to play Diana Ross.

And...Adrien Brody... horny I've had a thing for him ever since I saw "Splice" for the first time the other day. lol

Ha! I've had a thing for him since I saw him in "The Pianist" drool

Yeeees, law-red....it was him in those suits, Chile. All tall and lanky like a cool drank 'o water highfive

nod I think she can do it. She's clearly talented and this might be the type of mature role she can sink her teeth into to show the world she's not just the cute kid from Eve's Bayou.

I thought Beyonce did pretty well in Cadillac Records and she was okay in Carmen: A Hip-Hopera. (and THAT'S IT - nothing else). I have never seen Mary J in anything that I can think of. I'm glad they decided to go with an actress who can sing rather than a singer who may or may not be able to act.

You haven't seen Mary J blinking to heaven in "I Can Do Bad All By Myself"? lol Lady Jane can do right all by herself in her music, but as far as acting goes, I'll have to say leave the Nina Simone project alone.

And I've seen mannequins show more emotions than Beyonce did in all of her acting career.
