A couple that lean harder on the rock side of this fence...they are not really perceived as fusion artists (and I know you said no heavy metal), but to me that is what they are doing.

I only mentioned it because I know fusion has become a style in itself.
But like you pointed out, it's really more of an attitude that incorporates those 3 elements, and of course fusing different styles as the name implies. My Legacy

during interviews or other media outlets. One of the first times i was hipped to that name was seeing a Japanese vinyl copy of keyboardist Greg Mathieson ("Live At The Baked Potatoe"). At the time i would leave that copy for another time because the Japanese imported vinyl was rather high, but eventually when i planned to buy it, it was gone already
Speaking of Steve Lukather, at one moment during that live recording of Los Lobotomys he introduces the band, such as "...On saxophones and women's underware...Brandon Fields!..."
The Japanese edition of that live recording was released on David "The Creatchy" Garfield's Creatchy label. Keyboardist David has been doing some Musical Direction for George Benson in recent years.
