I remember her being everywhere in the 90's too, and one of my favourite artists of the decade though during Never Say Never, she was so overplayed on the radio. I remember playing that album often with friends though, and her debut being the album we all had to have, even 2 years after it came out. It's sad she didn't sell that great after Full Moon, which I believe is her best and most mature work to date, with Afrodisiac being a continuation of that.
I agree. I think the timing of "Full Moon" probably hindered her and Atlantic from being able to promote the record as they normally would, due to her pregnancy at the time.
Anyway, I believe "Full Moon" is where she and Rodney Jerkins' did their best work together to date. It did get a little repetitive after awhile due to the album's length. And although she didn't work with him on "Afrodisiac" she still managed to produce a hot record. Kanye West, Organized Noize, among others gave her some heat.
She and Kanye did great on Talk About Our Love, and then on his track Bring Me Down, which makes me quite emotional.
I honestly do think that some of the Full Moon beats should have been on Invincible, it sounds futuristic and modern. Also, it was upsetting in 2002 to see artists like Ashanti, Ja Rule and other easygoing people chart easily while Brandy was being ignored. Though they had carefree music that was easy on the ears, it was the milennium and Brandy was going in the perfect direction for the new sound. I also love how there are emotions in the slower songs as well.

Did you like the Teddy Riley produced ballad, "When You Touch Me"?

When You Touch Me is the bizzness! She sangs on that one!
Brandy elevated this excellent track from Diddy's Press Play album. The only bad thing on the record is him.
