R. Kelly- R. Album

His best album no doubt, as some of you can tell been on a W.A.S.P & R. Kelly trip lately:P

This album was fantastic and for me R has not come close yet to it... Although Love Letter was a damn good try though wink

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

I agree. I'm not a huge R. Kelly fan, and I started completely ignoring him after Double Up, but R. is one of my all time favorite albums. I think he does r&b so much better than hip hop.

Favorites include: Spendin' Money, If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time, VIP, Reality and I'm Your Angel (probably my most played song ever... it's kinda embarrassing to say that, but it's true I think.)

Well, I guess I'll make a longer list of all the songs I loved on this album, although I admittedly can't recall half the songs anymore, including most of the ones on your list. Still, I love:

  1. Home Alone
  2. Spendin' Money
  3. If I'm Wit You
  4. Only The Loot Can Make Me Happy
  5. If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time
  6. What I Feel/Issues
  7. VIP
  8. Did You Ever Think?
  9. Reality
  10. Looking For Love
  11. Down Low Double Life
  12. I'm Your Angel
  13. I Believe I Can Fly

The others I either didn't like, or more likely, can't remember.

R. was definitely a highlight in Kelly's career (his second best after 1995's R. Kelly). It was so risky for an R&B artist to release over 30 songs that sprawled over two discs, but he pulled it off very well. The anticipation for this particular album was high back in 1998-99 and its promotion was well done. Kelly was just unstoppable by the time this album came out. I play alot of these songs today and most are still strong.
