I almost forgot how unfortunate the original Invincible album was....I have been playing a different version of that album for almost 10 years now.. w/o 2000 Watts, Cry and The Lost Children.

I plan to make my own mix. IMHO his heart was at the right place with The Lost Children. I've warmed up to the song a bit but I still don't think that (or the other songs you listed) fit the theme of Invincible. To me, that seemed to be the only post-Motown album of Michael's solo career in which it was an album of "good songs" rather than a more cohesive effort. You knew the stories behind OTW, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and HIStory for example.

?

And what stories?

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Invincible is a good album but is not no Off the Wall. And Bad is definitely up there. Michael was on an emotional high when he did that particular album (and Dangerous).

'HIStory' and 'Dangerous' are Mike's two best to me. On both he is miles in front of 'Off the Wall.'

'Off the Wall' was big when it landed but Mike went on to bigger and better things.

I like 'Invincible' because it reminds me of 'Off the Wall. '

yeah I do enjoy playing Invincible alongside his late 70's/early 80's work

Bad and Dangerous are my two favourite solo albums

TVR is a way better album.

HIStory lacks the cohesiveness TVR has. Sure HIStory has some of MJ's best songs ever - TDRCAU, Stranger in Moscow and YANA. But there are a few dated, corny ass songs on that album. lol I can't even give a listen from beginning to end without skipping songs. TVR on the other hand is easy to listen to from beginning to end. But we can all agree that TVR is Janet's last great album and HIStory is MJ's last good album.

I think out of Janet's albums, Velvet Rope has aged the best. I love them all for what they are, but this one is timeless.

Although MJ's albums has sounds from their times too, they have fit in so well into each music era after IMO, for the most part. It's funny to me how even though RN and Dangerous have New Jack Swings and some fans have said there are similarities between the two, I think Dangerous has aged better. I love RN start to finish and think it's her best album ever, but not a timeless one like VR.

For those people arguing that Come Together broke the cohesiveness of HIStory, I hate to say it but I feel the same way about Tonight's The Night on TVR. It just kind of brought TVR to a grinding halt for me.

I sometimes thought the interludes on VR did that, but yeah I agree it was Tonight's the Night or Anything that didn't do much for me although they still support the sound of the album.

You are also Janet Jackson's biggest stan on this forum, because there is just no way you can even say something like that otherwise. One of the biggest annoyances on JJ's albums are those stupid interludes of her laughing, talking, or some other dumb nonsense. Even when my playlist is on shuffle all that mainly plays are those silly interludes. Even if you don't like all the songs on HIStory, at least there's actual songs taking up space on the album rather than Michael inserting some interlude about him throwing his back out when he was with LiMP one night or whatever.

OH MY GOD I AGREE ABOUT THE INTERLUDES ON JANET. Well least the ones that lasted a fucking millisecond! Interludes like "Back" or "Go On Miss Janet" was real unneccesary. The only interlude on that one I actually LOVED was "Morning".

I don't think I mentioned that the paranoia theme in a lot of MJ's music, HIStory included, is something I've always been fascinated by, cause I consider myself paranoid and overly cautious to a fault. I ended up writing something and realized the theme could fit on an album like Dangerous or HIStory easily, about a backstabber.

You talking about somebody acting like a MJ stan but you talking like a derange psycho path:-? Its really not that serious and even the people who prefer the VR admit that it is no where on the artistic production level of History objectively. If you disagree then you need to lay off the crack. Nobody came in here and bashed VR. They are both great albums.

And to answer your question.. While Invincible is not MJs best work it SURE AS HELL is better than that junk All 4 U.. you need to stop talking crazy now.

and I hope for your sake that your last sentence was just a joke. lol Invincible is a terrible album. Rolling Stone ranked that album one star and critics trashed it. AFY received better reviews and garnered more hits.

To be honest The Velvet Rope is better than History. History really isn't that great of an album. The only strong songs are Scream, They Don't Care About Us, This Time Around, Earth Song, You Are Not Alone, and Stranger in Moscow. Other than that the album is weak. Janet's album is strong from start to finish

Yes, it is. lol Just admit it. If I said HIStory is a better album you wouldn't have said a thing and I didn't bash HIStory! I said that it lacks cohesiveness that TVR has. I letter called you delusional because you're acting like it but my previous post in here (before the crazed MJ stans hopped on it) didn't indicate that.

Too much meaning? Perhaps next time you should learn to not use that word as a retort. It's stupid. If you didn't like my post you could've responded with a proper response and it would've been a decent debate but you decided to come at me the wrong way just like your other two buddies.
