Michael Jackson One Night Only HBO special In 1995, Michael was supposed to do a special for HBO called "One Night Only" but he fainted on stage during the rehearsals a few days before the special was to be filmed. Does anyone know what the setlist of the show was going to be? The only song that I know was confirmed was "Childhood" which was choreographed by Marcel Marceau. Does anyone know the full setlist?

I never thought about that, but interesting question. I have a poster of the show that never happened. I actually got it a few days after the collapse.

i am not sure why some MJ fans are in denial that man was in fact an addict??? sad as it/was.... the same way Elvis was, Kurt Cobain... doesnt mean we like their music any less...just sad there werent strong enough to overcome their demons...

Nobody is saying he didn't have problems. I'm just saying that the incident in '95 wasn't because he was having drug problems at the time "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Childhood was rehearsed, Marcel Marceau described the rehearsals after the incident. I assume You Are Not Alone, They Don't Care About Us, Stranger In Moscow, and of course Billie Jean were rehearsed too

So is anyone gonna answer the original question? Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Nobody really knows the setlist. It was never disclosed, although the rehearsals are recorded "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Janet and Michael would always say how much they are alike and I remember once Janet saying that when she has some personal problems, she tries to overcome it by working too much. I think that could have been the problem here, too. Mike's situation with Lisa was obviously really bad cause she filed for divorce after seeing him in the hospital and I think he could have been working too hard at that time to forget about it and we all know that when Mike works to hard, he forgets to drink and eat and that's what could have made him collapsed. I've read a story about him working on We are the world for hours without eating when Lionel finally said if they could take a break to eat that he was starving. Of course this is just my speculation, but I think it could be the case. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Janet did talk about it in True You, she would get so busy filming videos and forgetting to eat on the set....I myself did that a few years ago, tried to overwork though I was unhappy and I broke down physically, mentally, emotionally and am only now beginning to feel like myself now.

My poster is a 4 page foldout of that show. I couldn't put it up though my mom bought it for me, I wasn't allowed to in the beginning cause we were planning to renovate and paint rooms, so I kept it safe, and when my teacher asked us to bring in posters of our favourite artists to put up above the blackboard, I brought in that poster and Boyz II Men, and I remember telling the teacher to make sure I have it back safely I loved how it was the biggest poster and other kids noticed it when walking in

I agree most great artist have had drug problems. Hell, Whitney still has a drug problem but I still love her music. While I don't think Mj was into street drugs (crack, meth) I do believe he was into pills.

^^Well, according to the coroner's report there was no sign of him being an addict! I stick with that! Not saying though, that he didn't pop a pill from time to time.

Well can't we all agree that at some point and time he had a habit? It started after his hair caught on fire, I believe
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
^^Yep, I can agree with that... he had a problem at the end of '93!
