Jackie Wilson raped Patti Labelle? Say it aint so!!!!

Somebody messaged me on YT and said this happened and that she wrote about it. I don't think I've heard about this. Who knows somethin'?

If this is true...did he go to jail?

According to her, she was taken at gunpoint by Jackie and one of his henchmen I guess at the Apollo. Jackie nearly raped her but Patti claimed she screamed so loud they bolted out of there before making a move.

Don't know about evil but he was affiliated with gangsters in his early years, he had multiple girlfriends while he was still married to his first wife, one mistress shot him over another mistress, he fell into a cocaine addiction in his later years. And he allegedly had a weird relationship with his mother (he was his mother's only son).

the gangter part was pure conjecture. the part about the mistress was also untrue, but he did have groupies. the rumor about him and his mother was proven to be untrue.

^^^Yeah the Brunswick record label was ran by the mob. Really, the mafia had a hand in the entire entertainment industry (including Hollywood) back then. An act couldn't get a gig in Las Vegas or New York clubs without them.

I think that was explained in the book...I will find it and read up on that part. She was alone for some reason.

I did read that Nona and Sarah were probably at another place and when they got back to find Patti, it was just in time to go onstage...

I think that's why I was initially shocked by such an allegation but I soon got over it as I know even the finest of men can't handle rejection and if he was already accustomed to violence and having drug abuse issues well...he might have threatened just about anyone with rape.

Nothing funny or worth any sarcasm here. I heard about this in an interview she did a very long time ago. Sometime later in his life, he apologized to her.

Apparently she never mentioned that in her book. In her eyes, Jackie was "evil" after that but I think when you're on drugs and drunk and you're not of right mind, you do anything that is evil as rape. Jackie had a lot of demons for sure.

I read this years ago in Patty's book. She's had a hard life in some ways. Losing so many people close to her from cancer. I tend to believe her story about Jackie.
