As much as I adore Madonna, she was not the first artist to wear lingerie as stage-wear, to vogue or to use religious imagery in her art. Of course these pics aren't image-for-image lookalikes, but they show that artists do sometimes feed off of one another for inspiration.

We all know that Lady Gaga isn't the least bit "original" but to be fair,how can anybody be original in 2011? There's no more ground to break! Everything has been done before.The 80s was the last decade where we had innovative artists and unique ideas.Newer artists have no choice but to take what's already been done and try to make it appear "new" for today's generation.

I think you're being kind of shortshighted there. Nothing is new under the sun. Not back in 1811 or even now in 2011. Even God isn't new. He was based off of the Roman god Jupiter, who was based off the Greek god Zeus, and so on.

People have been taking shit from others and repackaging it for YEARS.
