Love it, great selection of his lovely facial expressions. Feels great to log in every now and then in this thread and to read about the love for him on a non-crazy-fan etc. level. Love MJ 4 ever.

There was a video clip from Soul Train in 1973 where the Jacksons had get together and one part shows Michael playing badminton with a blonde girl. It could've been Kathy "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I heard Michael say during an interview that his daughter was named Paris because that's where she was conceived.

I had a very good day. I did the Detroit - Michael Jackson Flash Mob Tribute. I'm tired as all get out but it was for Michael. I even wore my Fedora and struck his famous pose!
I think he'd have laughed like hell and loved it.
As soon as the Radio One posts the pics, I'll post them here.
Now I'm going to get real comfy with BenGay and Tylenol and sit my ol' behind on the couch and watch Michael's 30th Anniversary Special on TVOne til I fall to sleep.
Love you, Michael! RIP I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Ok...TVOne is showing that Flex as Michael...whatever that hot mess is.
So I've turned to the Centric Channel. They are showing Michael and the Jacksons '70's Soul Train performances!
I'm laughing my ass off because they started when Michael was about 12...I think...but apparently they were trying to HEADLINE Jermaine! His name is the one that's overhead!
They JUST didn't KNOW what was about to come...did they? [img:$uid]http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e70/SexyBeautifulOne/lmao-1.gif[/img:$uid]

I did the same thing. I have the DVD collection of 70s Soul Train and I watch this classic appearance by the J-5 all the time, along with their classic appearance on Soul Train as the Jacksons back in 1979, when Destiny came out and they were celebrating their 10th anniversary.
Don't deny Jermaine! Even though he's a major nutball, the man had much promise once upon a time. Just on a different caliber from Michael. Michael could never be duplicated or upstaged, so I see what you're saying. Check me out and add me on:

^ Yeah he had so much potential but he squandered it.
I'm not watching Centric or TV-One so whatever.

The first interview with Don Cornelius is with Jermaine...all by himself...doing HIS favorite pass time...talking about himself!!!

Seeing this in....retrospect...because I didn't see any of this when it happened...this is some HILARIOUS shit!!!!

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?! "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Jermaine's debut album had just come out so they were tying to make it as successful as Got To Be There which had come 6 months earlier....but it wasn't LOL
Got There Be There (January 24, 1972)- Pop #14, R&B #3 Looking Through The Windows (May 23, 1972)- Pop #7, R&B #3 Jermaine '72 (Jermaine's had 3 self titled albums ) (July 1972)- Pop #27 R&B #6 Ben (August 4, 1972)- Pop #5, R&B #4
Motown was popping out Jackson 5 albums "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Have you noticed that after that movie and One On One went off the air, Flex's career has come to a standstill? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Great observation! That film just wasn't the best look, but remember, this was when Michael was going through the 2004 People v. Jackson case and VH1 was just exploiting the hell outta him.
Remember this special?
A hot ass mess... Check me out and add me on:

I give TVONE the side eye for showing it "in tribute" when Michael PUBICLY DENOUNCED it. I'm not saying in an interview he didn't like it, the brotha released a PRESS STATEMENT denouncing it "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Because Jackie was fine as hell and he knew it!!!
Unfortunately, for him...the music industry hadn't YET...became the ridiculously SHALLOW entity that it is today! Had THAT been the case...Jackie would have topped 'em all!!!!! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
