Ok, I ask again:

What is anyone doing for the 25th? Anyone throwing a celebration or are you going to stay inside and just watch his music videos? Listen to his music? Light a candle? Be here or somewhere with fellow MJ fans?

I was thinking of staying home...but if I find something around I'm going to go. =3

Guys, can we put our differences of opinions aside until the 25th is over? Some of us are trying to cope with our grief and the memories associated with this day.

Let's try to celebrate Michael's life rather than bicker about the details. Seriously.

Hatrina posted a thread about an MJ Flash Mob in Detroit. Then I went on line and found this--guess what I know what I will be doing tomorrow, as well as watch the Bucharest concert and give a toast to the eternal MJ:

The memorial was being rebroadcast on TV here, and watching I am back there 2 years ago. Beautiful, sad, and touching.

For me the highlight remains "Will You Be There".

To UNimaginative...

There are those that like to dig around mess.
But millions around the world, we're going to uphold his message. It's not about mess, but it's about his love message.
As you climb up steep mountains, sometimes you scar your knee; sometimes you break your skin. But don't focus on the scars, focus on the journey. Michael beat 'em, Michael rose to the top. He out-sang his cynics, he out-danced his doubters; he out-performed the pessimists. Every time he got knocked down, he got back up. Every time you counted him out, he came back in. Michael never stopped. Michael never stopped. Michael never stopped.

I broke down in anguish like I lost a close family member on June 25, 2009 (followed by a month-long partial depression), so I've got nothing to celebrate regarding MJ today. I'll do that on his birthday, as usual.

Panini America Makes History with Michael Jackson-Worn Memorabilia Trading Cards

They say clothes don’t make the man. But these aren’t just any clothes and this isn’t just any man.

Sometimes, under extraordinary circumstances, clothes do make the man. They make him more collectible, more memorable, and perhaps even more touchable than he’s ever been.

The man in this case is, well, “The Man” – Michael Jackson. As for the history-making clothes, they were worn by the King of Pop himself from 1971 through 1974 during many memorable performances, including “The Flip Wilson Show,” “American Bandstand,” “Soul Train,” and televised specials anchored by such luminaries as Bob Hope and Diana Ross.

Leading trading card manufacturer Panini America purchased the history-soaked pieces of sartorial splendor at auction two years ago — and cut them up.

As a result, Jackson fans and collectors everywhere will have the unique opportunity to own pieces of Jackson when the company’s Official Michael Jackson Trading Card Set hits stores next week.

“We’re thrilled to be able to partner with the Jackson estate in an official capacity to honor Michael’s memory and his legendary career with this truly unique trading card set,” said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop. “We’ve been working diligently for more than two years to bring this set to market, and we’re confident that the inclusion of Jackson-worn memorabilia will make this a product unlike any other we’ve ever produced.”

Below you’ll find a stunning gallery of the Jackson memorabilia cards randomly inserted into the set, along with the corresponding auction description of the respective piece of clothing used.

The Official Michael Jackson Trading Card Set will be available starting next week at Target stores nationwide and at the Panini America Online Store.

I ordered 3 boxes of these. They should be here on the 27th. smile

To be honest I am a disappointed. Great potential there and I love Barry, but when I hear the snippet, I though we were going to have a duet to listen to with alot more MJ vocals. Still great to hear something they were working on smile

Hard to believe 2 years have passed....

My friend is a graphic designer. He knows how much I admired and loved MJ during his

lifetime, and now after. One day I told him how I always would have loved to have lived

inside the cover of Dangerous, as cool as it looked. He knew how hard this day was for

me, and he made me something. Thought I'd share it with you guys.

Oh yeah and that is me, front and center on the rug. biggrin

During the day, I'm going to take showers and lay in bed inappropriately with random children. Maybe fuck up my face in the late afternoon. Then for the evening, I'll just score some good anesthesia. You know, chill out.

We can all take the day to celebrate the lives of the millions of fathers who work hard to put food in their kids' tables at the end of the day. Take the day to celebrate the lives of the millions of workers who are constanly repressed by their superiors. Take the day to appreciate the people who make sacrifices to help others.

This, instead of celebrating the life of Michael Jackson, would be much more reasonable. Sure, he had a bit of talent- he could sing and dance well though there are millions just as good- but why celebrate the life of a man who spent a billion dollars on himself and who was a complete freak?

Let's not make idols of people who aren't idol material.
