Worst Singers With The Best Songs

[I'm flipping my "Best Singers With The Worst Songs" thread]

What singers would you say don't have vocal talent, but always have really good [or catchy] music?

الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

I have a strong disliking to Diana Ross's tone, but the goodness of many of her songs can't be denied.

His voice moves to tears though, it sounds ugly and VERY eerie, but its so moving.

[Edited 6/19/11 9:34am]

I thought Mustaine sounded great on Peace Sells--like a classic Hard Rock singer, which was a contrast to the yell/barking that other Thrash vocalists were doing....

For some reason, Mustaine didn't keep that same focus on his vox on future Megadeth records. Now he REALLY sounds like crud.

yeah, I also prefer his style on those 80's albums. With Youthanasia he officially became a "melodic" singer which doesn't suit him well. That said, he's still a competent singer (check out Megadeth's 00's albums) but he often struggles on tour, but who cares??? As long as the riffs are good, I'm happy. With Megadeth, the riffs come first...

Britney Spears. Chick's voice is so blah it ain't even funny but she's got a few killer tracks.

Corrine Bailey Rae. Yep, I said it. Good tracks; voice sucks.

Bob Dylan - helluva songwriter - one of the best. Voice? Notsomuch.

Imaginative

It's popular to discredit Dylan as a singer, and it's true that he doesn't have a traditionally "pretty," voice, but he is actually an amazingly talented and expressive vocalist. He also opened the door for a lot of other singer/songwriters without traditionally pretty voices, like Lou Reed, Randy Newman and many others.

oh yeah?

pure folk years: random voice, he was just delivering a message

hard-rock years (mid-60's): crazy-ass voice

country years: NASAL

+1975: heavy smoker
