Two men were arrested yesterday (June 14) on suspicion of planning to murder Joss Stone.

According to the Daily Telegraph the men, who are aged 30 and 33, were detained by police after being discovered outside the singer's Devon, England home with swords, rope and a body bag in their possession.

A source said of the arrests: "The pair were brought in on Tuesday morning and are in the cells. They are being quizzed about a plot to cause Joss Stone really serious harm. They have their solicitors with them but the police want to know what lies behind this."

They added: "The police want to know if this alleged conspiracy is about her money and fame or just some kind of resentment over her success. It looks like this pair had an A-Z of what they were planning to do. A body bag, swords and maps of where she lives in mid Devon were recovered. It looks like they were going to do her really nasty harm if they didn't get what they wanted."

Detective Inspector Steve Parker, who is leading the investigation, said: "The two men in custody had in their possession information relating to an individual in the Cullompton area and items that lead us to suspect that they may have intended to commit a criminal offence. Police enquiries continue and the men remain in custody."

Stone, who is due to begin a European tour next month, is being kept informed of developments.

Honestly, most stalkers aren't so smart, or at least aren't all there. Look at Lennon's killer, and the guy who did in Rebecca Shaffer, and the guy who slashed Teresa Saldana, Son of Sam, etc. Who really knows the reasoning behind what they did. To them, and really ONLY them, it made sense.

Stone Responds To Alleged Murder Attempt

Joss Stone says she's doing OK after police uncovered a bizarre murder and kidnap plot against her Tuesday.

"I'd like to thank everyone for their concern but I'm absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their inquiries," the singer said in a statement.

Two men were arrested near her Devon, England house with swords, rope and a body bag after neighbors called police to report suspicious activity. Police said they also had detailed maps and aerial photographs of the Stone's rural home.

She was not at home at the time.

"Police attended an address in [the village of] Cullompton yesterday morning [Tuesday] after alert residents notified officers about a suspicious-looking vehicle," officers said in a statement.

"Officers attended the area at around 10 am and subsequently arrested the occupants of a red Fiat Punto. Major crime detectives are continuing to investigate."

A chilling note found in a car close to Joss Stone’s home allegedly contained details of a plan to 'find a river to dump her in'.

The singer was apparently the target of a plot to attack and rob her.

Other handwritten notes found in the vehicle used the words ‘rob and kill, money in the safe, Joscelyn rob,’ it was claimed.

Detectives probing the case also apparently found a Samurai sword, knives a hammer, gloves and balaclavas in the small red vehicle which was parked close to the 24-year-old’s Devon home.

Miss Stone uses the gated house in Ashill, near Uffculme, as a UK base when she is not touring or working in the U.S.

Today Junior Bradshaw, 30, and Kevin Liverpool, 33, both from Manchester were remanded in custody after appearing before Magistrates in Exeter accused of conspiracy to rob and cause grievous bodily harm.

The men, who spoke only to confirm their identities during the hearing, will next appear at Exeter Crown Court on July 1.

They arrived at the court casually dressed, Liverpool in a black T-shirt and Bradshaw, who had dreadlocks pulled into short pigtails, wearing a grey sweatshirt.

They were later remanded in custody after a hearing which lasted around 40 minutes. No members of the Stone family were in court for the hearing.
