anybody who followed denice williams knows thats she was a party girl from encino cali. she lived right next door to the jacksons and she would tag along when it was time to hit the club.

Deniece's ep was boring as hell

It wasn't boring to me, but they did not dig deep enough into her dark side at all to me.

To quote a reality show participant, "they can't use what you don't give them". If Niecy only said that she "majored in sex & drugs" in college and refused to elaborate any further, then that's all that the show would be able to use. Maybe she'll put out more of her past dirty laundry if she ever decides to write a book about her life.

I have this compilation and it's pretty good, for the most part. But it's missing two songs that really should have been included:

"Waiting By The Hotline" (1982)

"What Two Can Do" (1981)

I suppose her 1979 disco hit "I've Got The Next Dance" could have been included too,but it's not essential.

It would have been a little bit on the exciting side to hear about her youthful folly. I like D. And I like to watch. (Not really as tawdry as all of that, but I don't know how to spell voyeur, and I do like to observe the people.) Right now I am daydreaming about doing a couple of Tequilla shots with her and calling some folks who deliver.

I like the Love Songs compilation better (for some reason). It has more songs that I like that weren't necessarilly popular.

1. What Two Can Do
2. You're All That Matters
3. Silly
4. It's Gonna Take A Miracle (Single Version)
5. My Melody
6. Now Is The Time For Love
7. Waiting
8. Too Much, Too Little, Too Late
9. When Love Comes Calling
10. I'm So Proud
11. Free
12. Baby, Baby My Love's All For You
13. Why Can't We Fall In Love?
14. I Found Love (Special Disco Version)

I recall reading an interview with Deniece many years ago where she stated she felt guilty when she would go in the studio to record a religious song and then get high immediately afterwards.

I have a feeling she might write those memoirs sooner or later. I can kinda see WHY she DIDN'T wanna talk about it on the show...

Fascinating stuff, but she's far from the only one who suffered that complex, as we probably know... but yeah, I'm not surprised though it is fascinating.

I enjoyed this. Taral Hicks introduced me to Silly back in '97 when I was 14 and because of that I discovered and became a fan of her work.

She was earning money for everyone around her but still broke as a joke really. And not ever properly recognized for he contributions to S. ...treated like she was disposable. But she was not, in fact, disposable - as we found out on that terrible tour where Delissa and Mikki joined the band.neutral

But I would love it if there was some kind of peace found to where we could hear those amazing Shalamar songs live again. Their voices were really perfect together. And those songs were perfect, too.

I never knew before seeing this that she went to my homestate college Morgan. I was also a bit shocked that she had a "drug and sex" filled college experiece! lol It was jarring seeing that plummet she took from the stage again. Thankfully she made it out of that one okay.

I used to dig this post-"Let's Hear it For the Boy" cut. Still do...

She never really had a "intimate relationship" with Johnny Mathis I think those two were great friends who genuinely loved each other.

Her Unsung was good because she is a great who never had a tragic story

They should do an Unsung on the Fifth Dimension a black group in the 60's who were doing hippy songs like Aquaris and Go Where You Wanna Go.
