JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE

Would somebody please call the radio stations and tell them to please stop playing the song "CRY ME A RIVER".

I've been at my office now for about 6 hours and I swear I've heard that song about 8 times today, I hear the damn thing on the pop radio stations "of course", I hear the damn thing on the urban stations and I hear it on any station that ain't country and western, and the way they are playing the damn thing sooo much there might as well be country and western version.

Gosh almighty already will d.j.'s please give this whining little bitch of a song a rest.

There's a lot of record label money behind the Justin machine. They won't stop until this cow has been milked dry.

The Powers that Be Want Him to Be the Michael Jackson of this Era.it ain't gonna Happen but they still gonna try to make Him the 2nd Most Important White Male Artist to Eminem.but again He can't catch Eminem either but they gonna try.I feel He is too Slick&Catchy as to Being that Good but we are in the Fast-Food Era of Music so this is what you get.

so sad, all this to do over someone who's made a career out of mimicking other great artists. I really do hope these kids who are listening to it are also aware of the originators. It amazes me even more that these record companies will abandon the very acts that these newbies are copying in order to sell more of the same thing.

well Justin is has a Problem.Michael Jackson might not be as Huge as He once was but His Moves,Routines,Singing,etc.. isn't that far Removed in time for Justin to be biting it so soon.everybody takes from one another but it's how you go about it that determines your career down the line.Justin seems at this stage another dime a dozen Cat that is more closer to Usher than MJ IMHO overall.

He is a Catchy Cat but if the Industry wasn't trying to throw the Fact that they have Him Working with Every Hot R&B/Rap Producer&Writer of the Moment&acting so Desperate to Make Him there Version of Michael Jackson I wouldn't trip but tell Me from His Leaving a Group what has He done that Sisqo didn't do already? also what does Justin do Besides have a Better Range than Usher Overall do that Usher can't do?Timberlake Has Talent but He isn't quite worth all the Hype the Industry is Pimping. His Songs are Catchy&Better with Him as a Solo Artist but all anybody cares about is Him&Brittney thus far.meaning His Work at this Stage is considered fairly Soft.

I don't think it's Timberlake per se, it's just the way the
companies are promoting him. His songs don't suck, it's the
way they're being forced upon us.

None of these new artists get time to really try out what
they'd feel most comfortable with and create an own sound.

First single they release has got to be a #1 single and all
other stuff from their first album gets played to death on
radio and mtv. They scoop the award shows and then...

Well yes, then what?

Then they make another album or two and people are sick
and tired of them. They've become too famous too soon to
be 'allowed' to change their style too much and then they're
dropped by both their 10-13 year old audience as well as
their record company.

I just don't understand this need to have an artist on your
label and create an "instant" star, promote them to death
and have everything known about them within a matter of a
few years. No mysterie, no free will.

Then they explode, like stars are wont, and then the comp
just manufactures a new one.

I can't really see too many Lennons or McCartneys, Prince's
Springsteens or even Madonnas coming from this era really.
And that's not because there is no real talent, it's just
because the overall field is being infested by the overtly
crappy "new" commercial hoard. And that's a shame.

Than again, being semi-sidelined, people like Björk, Ben
Harper, Tori Amos, Nick Cave, Radiohead, Sinead, Beck and
others do get to stage their own carreers and experiment
with their sounds and even release fcking great albums,
made with a real skil and talent. Whilst the "big bad" exexs focus on the immediate money in plastic pop.

Argh, I should stop

You probably know this as well as I do, but it's about the stockholders getting an immediate return on their investment. The sooner they get paid, the sooner the record company gets their share of the profit and so on and so on...
To cultivate a real artist takes years. Even as prolific and talented Prince is, it took him 5-6 albums to really hit it big. In today's market(should be "music scene")-- 5+ albums is almost unheard of without a huge hit.
P would've been dumped long ago back in 1980 or 81, based on current standards.

Of course, I'm preaching to the choir here when it comes to the music biz.

(yes master record company I will do your bidding)

Then they explode, like stars are wont, and then the comp

All Artists are Real&Have the Same Potential if a Record Company Gets behind them?but in today's Market you get only 3-5 Songs to Prove yourself.remember Warner Brothers wanted to let Prince go after "Dirty Mind" Came out but He hung on in there.Companys aren't about that now.the stakes are different&too High.Video changed the whole game&throw in Payola&Down-Sizing Companys&some Great Talent is burried in the Mix.

nod I'm hearin ya MrM...of course the fans lose out the most. I was lucky to grow up in a great decade of music(the 80's), but since then--give or take a few artists-- the 90's and 00's seem flat and uninspired.
