This guy needs to figure out what he wants to be. I really think he wants to be an r&b artist, but he knows he will never make it as one. Like someone else said, he over-sings everything. All of the excessive runs are just flat-out annoying.
Besides, I don't like it when someone takes a secular song about YEARNING FOR YOUR LOVER and change the lyrics. That really bothers me.

Tonex should just do a funk album and see what happens... he's too wild for gospel or conservative R&B.

"DIESEL" drops 7.19.2011
Trust me, there is some FUNK on that one.
Just leaked: the second single, the nu-disco joint, Wallflower.
LOL. There's another video that I'm not going to post where he is church preaching, about a month before those NYC performance that I already posted here. He's telling the congregation not to call him Tonex or Pastor Tonex when he's ministering the word, that Tonex, B-Slade, and all his other aliases are for the stage basically. I don't know how effective that is for him, to try to seperate all that "extra" from the supposedly real Anthony Williams.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

This alter ego bullshit is running rampant, ain't it?

So much for owning up to it.
Yeah, that's why people like him are probably better off sticking to writing and producing for other artists. That way, they always have the safety net to cover an array of styles that a lot of times artists can't do for fear of alientating their audiences. And Tonex is an AWESOME producer, but a lot of his stuff has fallen on deaf ears, for the reasons I already mentioned, when it could have been all over the charts had it been released by somebody else.

That boy's a fool! His range was always ridiculous. Haven't bought anything from him since his first, Pronounced Toe-Nay. His Live DVD from years ago that featured Sheila E was actually good. Really showed his diversity. Him and Sheila killed it.
He's been a big Janet fan for years. Not surprised to see him do a cover. Haven't kept up with ole Anthony Williams for years. I guess that closet got a little stuffy.

I was at that show...........they threw down for real. I did not realize until that day that Kirk Franklin actually had some real chops especially on the keys.
