Beyonce will never be a Jackson, but I can see where the comparisons are coming from with the choreography. It is redundant just like the song...I think the video helped a song a little bit, but it is far from her best work and I doubt I will be supporting this new album. And with things like putting up the middle finger, I couldn't help but think "so this is how it is without her dad"

I actually could tolerate this. It was alright. The tune by itself is still trash though.

Only thing good about it was some of the clothes; like that gold, Gaga-esque outfit she had on. Interesting from an aesthetic standpoint.

From the teasers I expected the video to be alot less... conventional.

Sure the setup was cool, but to me the shooting style was kinda bland.

The song itself would be a lot more tolerable without the synth part. The whole thing just sounds messy with it when there vocals on top of it. Then again, there isn't much else there.

well i can say the video does NOT live up to the hype and i knew it wouldn't

this video shows that beyonce is NOT a real dancer like i been saying all along, she looks sloppy with her technique, and is only good at coochie poppin.

This is an odd choice for a leadoff single, because there's nothing really to sing along to, and the beats are just a bunch of marching band-like drumming. Fleetwood Mac did a better job with "Tusk", and Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" at least had something you could sing/rap along with.

You can definitely sing along to this song. Her voice is the melody. That's one of the reasons why I like it, because the whole song is pretty much built around her vocal arrangements and it is works. At least for me it does.

My only complaint of the video, is that I wish there was a better developed storyline. She could really did something with the military, women take over theme. In fact, I will explain more in my review of it:

I will get right to the point and say that I like the song more than the video. That's not to say the video isn't good. In my eyes it is. I don't know. I think there should have more play on the military feel. You have drums in the song that give the song that kind of feel, she should have been marching, but dancing at the same time and maybe having a fictional place in which they conquered a nation controlled by men. It may sound wack to some people, but that's what I would have done. But that's why I don't make the big bucks that they(entertainers and directors) do.

Either way, the dancing is very good, even though I don't know if it was the editing of the video or whatever, but on a couple parts, especially with the two men, her moves weren't in sync with theirs. I do like her dancing in the sand upside down. Like the different dances she was doing, especially some of the African dances she was doing. My grade for it is a B-. Wouldn't call it epic, but still good. The stans, for the most part will love it. Anti Beyonce fans won't. What else is new.

That is a pretty decent comparision(though not as great at that video), but don't say that too loud in here because you know how that goes whenever you mention Bey and MJ in the same sentence. LOL.
