I don't see "Judas" as being a flop, personally. It was a top ten hit. Now, if it had've gone to, say, #36 on the Hot 100 and plummeted from there, then I would've called it a flop. And "Hair" is already #12 I believe, and will probably shoot up with the success of the album. I've been hearing that the EOG video will be "maritime"-themed.
Her next single will be picked by the fans, and if my guess-timations are correct, it'll (hopefully) be "Heavy Metal Lover". My single wish-list in order (if they do 6-7 more singles) is:
Heavy Metal Lover Government Hooker Black Jesus + Amen Fashion Scheiße Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) Fashion of His Love
*as a bonus, Bad Kids as the very last single

Lady Gaga: 'Born This Way' Download Isn't Worth More Than 99 Cents
By WSJ StaffSales of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” reached 1.11 million copies in its first week in North America, boosted by Amazon, which offered a digital download version of the album on Monday and Thursday last week for 99 cents.
In an exclusive interview, the WSJ’s Lee Hawkins asked Lady Gaga whether she felt her record was worth more than 99 cents. Her answer:
“No. I absolutely do not, especially for MP3s and digital music. It’s invisible. it’s in space. If anything, I applaud a company like Amazon for equating the value of digital versus the physical copy, and giving the opportunity to everyone to buy music. It also wasn’t really 99 cents, because Amazon paid the difference on all of those purchases as part of their promotional campaign for one of their new services. I think it’s amazing and it was a really nice surprise and I felt honored that they chose my record to be part of it.”

Strange you WOULD mention those two. I still don't understand why she just didn't put the songs in the "original edition" rather than go through all of that to put a "special" edition or whatever she wants to call it. I doubt those two would even be released, wishful thinking. And the video for TEOG, I hear, keeps getting delayed. She should strike when the iron is hot though.

I respect your opinion but these are just not singles honey but she is in a very good spot where she can release ABC-123 that might go top ten as well. And honestly Black Jesus + Amen Fashion and Fashion of His Love should have been on the standard edition to replace the tracks I have in bold. I feel like Highway and Bad Kids were supposed to be good but toward the mid the song just became trash I can't explain.

Had she replaced Highway and Bad Kids and put them on the "special edition" and have Black Jesus and Fashion of His Love (or The Queen) it would've made more sense to release them. People don't usually release songs from deluxe editions unless labels knew for sure that these songs would be hits (like Mariah and Usher for example). So we'll see what they'll do in the case of Gaga.

LG doesn't care about that. Remember, Fame Monster was supposed to just be an EP of bonus tracks to The Fame and it was LG's insistance it be its own release. I am quite certain Interscope would not have balked at that being the plan given it's difficult to make change off an EP.
That being said, the Deluxe edition is the one being pushed all over. You see that Deluxe edition cover everywhere, no sign of the motorcycle, etc. And the deluxe edition seems to be affected by fewer cheapie promotions, but that's not gonna change the single choices. When Fame Monster came out, Cherrytree promised to release the explicit version later on - having no qualms bout double charging people for copies of the album if they wanted the uncensored version.

So that just further proved she's only going to put out songs from the standard edition. It's complicated because most European countries don't even count TFM as a single album but more of an addition to TF.

I don’t like the Queen really and that’s true but you never know even though I prefer Black Jesus and Fashion on the standard they not as good as some of the main tracks so they might not be released anyway. She said she wants to do a video for Black jesus badly though.

Which is why I say it'll be interesting to see if she can do it, she probably can't. Otherwise, it would've been released on another stand-alone EP like "Bad Romance" and 'em were on TFM instead of being included on a "deluxe edition" of The Fame as it was originally intended. I don’t care what anyone says TFM will always be considered an album to me squash that EP nonsense.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah I see it as a full album too actually.
Anyways, heard "The Queen", I agree, it's not real good, well midway when it goes down tempo I like it but I could kinda see why she didn't include it in the standard edition. ALL the songs are very 1980s-inspired... I think I said that already.

Can you imagine Marry The Night , Government Hooker, Scheiße , Bloody Mary and Heavy Metal Lover on TFM.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I actually can! It fits the theme of TFM to a fucking tee...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
OMG I was actually going to make a playlist and add those songs to the fame monster that would have been flawless more flawless than it already is.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Now THAT would've been an ALBUM OF THE DECADE for real.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Lol Yes I think this would have been a better album now that I think about it.

I do like at times when artists make a long tracklist but as always there is filler and it’s rare for every song to be good. I think if she made it short to these tracks it would have been a strong contender for being beter than TFM.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I agree. That's why sometimes I'm not a fan of albums with over 12 tracks of them. Sometimes 8 or 9 is enough. 8 used to be a full album once upon a time according to music industry rules but the CD era changed that, I guess.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
There are albums 17-21 tracks I don’t mind them if most of the songs are decent but for these artists now they need at 12 pick the best ones and put them on the album. Snoop Dogg latest was TOO LONG for me I couldn’t get into it.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Right. Snoop always had albums with too many fillers on it. I made the mistake borrowing one of my brother's Snoop CD's (that he let me keep because he couldn't get into it either) and ended up being bored with it. I think it started skipping though by track 20.

R u kidding me? Highway Unicorn is EPIC. From beginning to end. I mean, the last minute or so of it, alone is just...nobody is making pop music like this! "Get up off that grey line"

Wait... wait... you were around in the '80s right? They WERE making music like this.

I’m sorry no they are two of the worst songs on that album(along with Americano that I do listen to) and it’s not just me that says this even people outside this forum but it’s just my opinion and not to be taken as fact. She could have left those two off. And I do agree her "Pop Music " is miles better than what Rihanna and them are doing but that doesn't mean she doesn't have some bad songs in her Catalog . I was getting into those two tracks then something didn't connect throughout the rest of those two songs something not right about those two [Edited 6/2/11 18:50pm]

I don't even listen to Rihanna and 'em and when I do get to hear a portion I'm already like Mr. Horse from Ren & Stimpy: "no I didn't like it". Same with SOME songs off BTW. Least it ain't like The Fame where in some songs she DID have songs that Rihanna and 'em would've done.
