^LOL Hilarioussssss @ Spinlight.

The numbers are in. Billboard is reporting:

It's Official: Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Sells 1.11 Million

"Born This Way" album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 1,108,000 copies sold in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's only the 17th album to sell a million in a week since SoundScan began tracking sales data in 1991, and the highest sales week since 2005.

"Born This Way" also marks Gaga's first No. 1 album -- "The Fame" debut peaked at No. 2, while "The Fame Monster" EP reached No. 5 and dance effort "The Remix" hit No. 6.

"Born This Way's" bow reaps the largest sales week of any album since 50 Cent's "The Massacre" did 1,141,000 in its first week, in March of 2005. The last time we had a million-plus frame was when Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" premiered at No. 1 with 1,006,000 in November of 2010. The SoundScan-era record week is held by NSYNC's "No Strings Attached," when it debuted at No. 1 with 2,416,000 in 2000.

Additionally, Gaga is only the fifth woman to notch a million-plus week. The record frame for a woman is held by the bow of Britney Spears' "Oops! I Did It Again," which started with 1,319,000 upon its release in May of 2000. "The Bodyguard" soundtrack, driven mostly by Whitney Houston songs, was the first SoundScan-era album to shift a million, and it did so over the busy Christmas shopping week of 1992 (1,061,000). Later, Norah Jonas' "Feels Like Home" debuted with 1,022,000 in 2004, and then the aforementioned Swift sizzled just last year.

While there wasn't any doubt as to whether Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" album would debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 -- that's been an assumption for months -- its first-week number was always in question. A month ago, executives at Gaga's record company, Universal Music Group, were expecting a first week total of around 400,000.

That number escalated to 650,000-700,000 by its release on Monday, May 23 -- the same day AmazonMP3 announced its controversial decision to sell the album for 99-cents for one day only. By last Wednesday (May 25), sources indicated that a million-unit week seemed quite plausible. Once Amazon opted to again sell the set for 99-cents on Thursday, May 26, "Born This Way's" million-unit week was all but guaranteed. It's estimated that AmazonMP3 sold upwards of 440,000 downloads of its 99-cent "Born This Way" album.

Gaga's total downloads haul from all digital retailers was 662,000 -- the biggest week for a digital album in SoundScan history. It represents 60% of the set's overall first week.

A full recap of the week's top 10 selling albums and digital songs will follow on Wednesday morning (June 1).

Is this still relevant since "Run The World" is flopping down the charts?

Am I the only one that enjoyed Bionic? I thought it was her best album.

Isn't it something along the lines of "On this I am clear, as long as I am Mother Monster (something, something...)?"

Well, it's been said that at least part of it is gibberish and doesn't make any sense. The fact she says it in a french accent makes it more difficult. The crazy stans on the LG.com boards have no clue and keep reposting the official lyric sheet, which is clearly wrong.

People keep getting the "It isn't hell if everybody knows my name" lyrics from "The Edge of Glory" wrong, too, saying that it's "It doesn't hurt if everybody knows my name." I noticed in the CD booklet that "Bad Kids" has a ton more lyrics than what are actually in the song. Is there a longer version of it?

Yeah, same thing with "You And I" - the studio version has like a whole extra verse and sounds nothing like the live version. I was JUST reading something about the versions of "Bad Kids" and that there is an extended cut (obviously from the lyrics) but I do not think it has circulated.

Not sure most people would even care given "Bad Kids" gets shit on so much.... But I like it???

I looked the lyrics up and this is it in german: Ich bin mir absolut klar
Ich trag den Namen Monster

To me, i would translate it in: I'm totally sure, my name is Monster (i carry the name Monster).

She's speaks with such an accent, that i can't hear it from the song itself.

She's speaks with such an accent, that i can't hear it from the song itself.

She's saying two things, though. There's a "I am Mother Monster" version and then something about A Monster and then Fraulein. Pardon the phonetics, but this is what I am hearing:

Ich lieben austa be clair

Eskumpe Madre Monster

Auschke auschke-be flaugen

Begun-be uske but-bair

We schleifen austa be clair

Eskumpent uska Monster

Auschke auschke-be flaugen

Fraulein, [unintelligible] be clair

I have no clue if any of that makes sense, I just tried to piece it together as best I could. My brain really farts on the "Ausche auschke-be flaugen" part because it doesn't sound intelligible at all. I had to repeat it like 5 times just to understand if there were consonants in there. LOL.

It seems like she is saying, "Let me be clear, I am Mother Monster" and then "Let us be clear, our name is Monster". No clue what the 2nd part is but on the "We are monster" stanza, it ends with "Fraulein" and a repeated statement about being "clear".

The french accent throws it off. Like I said, the German posters (or rather, people who say they know german) on the Lady Gaga forums insist that only half of the words make any sense and that that must be the point of her saying, "I don't speak German, but I can if you'd like." Perhaps she is speaking some German words, but that it ends up becoming just gibberish that rhymes/flows with the first two lines.

'Weird Al' Yankovic: Lady Gaga Has 'Rocked the Zeitgeist'

[img:$uid]http://www.billboard.com/photos/stylus/1078449-weird-al-yankovic-617-409.jpg[/img:$uid]

Even though it took some doing, "Weird Al" Yankovic has no hard feelings towards Lady Gaga over the struggle to release "Perform This Way," his parody of her hit "Born This Way" and the first single from his forthcoming new album "Alpocalypse."

Gaga's manager had initially refused permission for Yankovic to release "Perform This Way," but Yankovic says things changed once Gaga herself heard the song.

"Even though her manager was presenting it as such, she had never once approached Gaga, so it was news to her when people were...asking, 'How come you're not letting Weird Al do his parody?' " Yankovic tells Billboard.com. "She was not aware of it at all, and when she actually did hear the song she loved it and gave me permission."

Yankovic adds, "This is unfortunately not an isolated incident over the course of my career...I find it's better, whenever possible, to go directly to an artist and deal with them personally, but as it turns out I didn't happen to have Lady Gaga's home phone number or e-mail address."

Yankovic did hasten the process by posting the song on YouTube during the negotiations -- but only, he says, because it was the first time a manager had insisted on hearing an actual recording rather than simply reviewing a lyric sheet. "I'd never done that before," he explains. "I figured if you already have the lyrics, if you don't find those offensive then you're not going to find it offensive when you hear the fully produced version of it -- which is why I was kind of knocked for a loop when the answer we got back was 'no.' "

Now, however, the battle is history. Yankovic is a Gaga fan -- "I think she's a huge talent -- a great songwriter and a wonderful performer..." -- and the Gaga camp also gave him permission to use her "Poker Face" in a medley called "Polka Face" that appears on "Alpocalypse." And having "Perform This Way" cleared also gave him a hook on which to hang the new album.

"I had the 11 other tracks in the can for close to a year," Yankovic says, "and I was waiting for the right lead-off single. I've come to learn over the course of my career that my albums are more successful if they are released concurrently with a single that's very topical and maybe celebrates a pop culture event of serious magnitude. I thought that Lady Gaga, and specifically her new album and single, was a sufficiently large event. I thought Gaga had sufficiently rocked the zeitgeist enough for me to make that choice."

Yankovic is working on a big-budget video for "Perform This Way" that he says should be out around the same time as "Alpocalypse's" June 21 release. The album also includes parodies of Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" ("TMZ"), Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." ("Party in the CIA," also timely in the wake of the Osama Bin Laden assassination), B.o.B's "Nothin' On You" ("Another Tattoo") and T.I.'s "Whatever You LIke," with the same title. Yankovic also recorded stylistic homages to the White Stripes ("CNR"), Queen ("Ringtone") and the Doors ("Craigslist," with the group's Ray Manzarek guesting on keyboards).

Yankovic is currently on the road and plans to spend most of the rest of the year touring. The new material is gradually being worked into the set, he adds. "This tour was booked before I knew I'd have an album coming out," Yankovic explains, "so I had a lot of things thrown in my lap at once. We're still trying to work things out."
