The numbers are in. Billboard is reporting:

I'm pretty sure that's about the dumbest thing I've ever seen in an interview and I kind of like(d) Whitney. She's obviously dumb as rocks.

Anyone brave enough to deciper the Franco-German in "Scheisse"?

THIS! | |

Isn't it something along the lines of "On this I am clear, as long as I am Mother Monster (something, something...)?" "Get up off that grey line"
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well, it's been said that at least part of it is gibberish and doesn't make any sense. The fact she says it in a french accent makes it more difficult. The crazy stans on the LG.com boards have no clue and keep reposting the official lyric sheet, which is clearly wrong.

People keep getting the "It isn't hell if everybody knows my name" lyrics from "The Edge of Glory" wrong, too, saying that it's "It doesn't hurt if everybody knows my name." I noticed in the CD booklet that "Bad Kids" has a ton more lyrics than what are actually in the song. Is there a longer version of it? "Get up off that grey line"

Yeah, same thing with "You And I" - the studio version has like a whole extra verse and sounds nothing like the live version. I was JUST reading something about the versions of "Bad Kids" and that there is an extended cut (obviously from the lyrics) but I do not think it has circulated.
Not sure most people would even care given "Bad Kids" gets shit on so much.... But I like it???

I looked the lyrics up and this is it in german: Ich bin mir absolut klar
To me, i would translate it in: I'm totally sure, my name is Monster (i carry the name Monster).
She's speaks with such an accent, that i can't hear it from the song itself.

She's saying two things, though. There's a "I am Mother Monster" version and then something about A Monster and then Fraulein. Pardon the phonetics, but this is what I am hearing:
Ich lieben austa be clair Eskumpe Madre Monster Auschke auschke-be flaugen Begun-be uske but-bair
We schleifen austa be clair Eskumpent uska Monster Auschke auschke-be flaugen Fraulein, [unintelligible] be clair
I have no clue if any of that makes sense, I just tried to piece it together as best I could. My brain really farts on the "Ausche auschke-be flaugen" part because it doesn't sound intelligible at all. I had to repeat it like 5 times just to understand if there were consonants in there. LOL.
It seems like she is saying, "Let me be clear, I am Mother Monster" and then "Let us be clear, our name is Monster". No clue what the 2nd part is but on the "We are monster" stanza, it ends with "Fraulein" and a repeated statement about being "clear".
The french accent throws it off. Like I said, the German posters (or rather, people who say they know german) on the Lady Gaga forums insist that only half of the words make any sense and that that must be the point of her saying, "I don't speak German, but I can if you'd like." Perhaps she is speaking some German words, but that it ends up becoming just gibberish that rhymes/flows with the first two lines.

'Weird Al' Yankovic: Lady Gaga Has 'Rocked the Zeitgeist'
[img:$uid]http://www.billboard.com/photos/stylus/1078449-weird-al-yankovic-617-409.jpg[/img:$uid]
Even though it took some doing, "Weird Al" Yankovic has no hard feelings towards Lady Gaga over the struggle to release "Perform This Way," his parody of her hit "Born This Way" and the first single from his forthcoming new album "Alpocalypse."
Yankovic adds, "This is unfortunately not an isolated incident over the course of my career...I find it's better, whenever possible, to go directly to an artist and deal with them personally, but as it turns out I didn't happen to have Lady Gaga's home phone number or e-mail address."
Now, however, the battle is history. Yankovic is a Gaga fan -- "I think she's a huge talent -- a great songwriter and a wonderful performer..." -- and the Gaga camp also gave him permission to use her "Poker Face" in a medley called "Polka Face" that appears on "Alpocalypse." And having "Perform This Way" cleared also gave him a hook on which to hang the new album.
Yankovic is working on a big-budget video for "Perform This Way" that he says should be out around the same time as "Alpocalypse's" June 21 release. The album also includes parodies of Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" ("TMZ"), Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." ("Party in the CIA," also timely in the wake of the Osama Bin Laden assassination), B.o.B's "Nothin' On You" ("Another Tattoo") and T.I.'s "Whatever You LIke," with the same title. Yankovic also recorded stylistic homages to the White Stripes ("CNR"), Queen ("Ringtone") and the Doors ("Craigslist," with the group's Ray Manzarek guesting on keyboards).
